What jobs are there out in the world that are BDSM related? Besides porn. I mean...is there even a broad field for people with our expertise?

Porn and prostitution seem to be the biggest ones. I think making sex toys may be the next biggest thing, but that's really not a talent so much as something a lot of local entities probably handle. I'm sure a lot of more involved BDSM'ers make their own toys, but there could still be a market for custom things if you like working with them. You can see the Professional Services board if you'd like to look for other sorts of things offered here on CM.

It would depend upon the specific area of expertise. While at a day spa, it occurred to me that someone who enjoyed performing genital torture could be a Brazillian waxer. A bondage expert might make a good cargo rigger. Someone who is skilled at humiliation could work at the DMV.

Department Of Motor Vehicles, its basically where Americans have to go to get driver's licences, cars registered etc

A Brazilian waxer for sure! (I'm going to be laughing at that one for a long time from all the movie scenes I've seen where that was an element). Well the direct jobs BDSM related might be porn, sex-therapy, making toys, but also working in a fetish shop. Not sure if there are those tupperware-like parties where women and couples get together to buy sex-toys from a salesperson who stages the sex-toy parties to show the wares in a relaxed comfortable adult situation...no sex involved but they get a chance to buy quality toys without having to sleaze up to an ABS (not that there's anything wrong with that....). Another job is the food industry...there's a resturant in NYC for instance that uses BDSM (moreso Femdom) as a theme to their atmosphere/theme.

That's cool, I think it's a good idea and really opens avenues up to people with the desire to start into something with more of a healthy outlook than if they are doing something nasty. It's a good thing!

That brings up the SCA in my mind as well. Not necessarily a job, but I know that at Medival Times theme restaurants; that a lot of the performers there are not only associated with SCA, but I have heard a few are lifestylers as well.

Oh and I forgot that pony people sometimes are professionals in the horse business ( I can't spell equestrian this early in the morning) as well. And leather workers might also dabble in all things BDSM in someway.
