I've been finding that so many people talk about others who are "players", not for real, not who they say they are, and so on. I thought I'd throw out there that we have met a number of people from CM and plan to meet many more. Not one so far has been a liar or fake. We got along better with some than others, made close friends with a few, and had nothing more than a nice lunch with the rest. I think that these are pretty good odds, considering we didn't spend much effort on verifying identities or looking up references.

Are we just unusually lucky, or are these ordinary, positive meetings really the norm for most people?

There are no fakes....and in one way or the other. we are all wannabe's..:)

i've met some goods ones, i've almost met some truly nasty ones. but then, those same 'nasty' people probably went on to meet wonderful people who complimented them well. i try not to think about it as a matter of fake or real since i've been accused of being fake myself by people who didn't click with me but see myself as just as real as they are.

Fake = someone you invested emotion and time in but who didn't turn out to be what you were wanting and badly hoped they'd be.

Genuine = someone who is what you hoped they'd be, or who you discovered was not what you wanted before you got emotionally involved.

The landmine here is that some people get emotionally involved very easily, and they ascribe to someone else qualities that the other person does not have and does not pretend to have.

Voice of Experience. Been there, done that. Learned my lesson.

there are no fakes in toronto..there are only FLAKES in toronto... just look outside especially the last 2 days...you'll see lots of FLAKES... and i dont mean gays either....

i think im gonna put up a BEWBIE shot like mollys...maybe i wont find fakes...but likely find a stalker....hope its a female stalker.

Nobody in the world is a fake person.  I also don't think anybody willing to meet you in real time is not someone at least interested in learning more about the lifestyle.

I've met plenty of pathological liars.  Yet, they aren't only lying to me and others in the scene.  They are that way period..in life.  Can't exactly call them fake either.

As you've stated, some you just don't mesh well with.  It is the same for everyone.  Some you get along with great, others you don't.
