WoW! i have to say that i am kind of shocked here...actually, kind of disappointed too. I thought more of Ravens family i guess. This seems out of character................or, perhaps it's just the way i took it. Not sure yet. I'm going to think a bit more about this.

Have a nice evening...

I agree with you smilezz. I am quite disappointed.
It comes to something where people feel they need to do something like this to prove a point and show others their behaviour.
It also comes to something when people have no respect for themselves or others, that they have to resort to trickery, even transparent ones.

Peace and Love

Well.........I am hardly shocked. Let's clear this all up, shall we? Bottom line was simple.........I did it to prove a point. That point was.......respond to the post, not the poster. Irregardless of how despicable people may find him. I found it amusing that statements of "persecution complex" tossed about. That is an inaccurate assessment. What is accurate is a double standard. I am hardly the only person who posts inflammetory comments. What's "sad" is that the majority of you all are too thin skinned to deal with it. But I overlooked something. Differences. There will always be differences. I don't like yours..........you don't like mine. The faster we all accept that........the better off we all will be.

Enjoy whatever it is that you "do".

Oh, don't be a big martyr. Are you really upset by the responses you get from a bunch of faceless strangers on the Collarme boards? The more energy you spend grousing about your persecutors, the less energy you have for anything else.

But I get the feeling you LIKE playing the role of the despised one.

And therein lies the major difference between me and you. *I* don't pretend or play a role at anything.

Hey, here in Indiana at sunset and rise, the sky is often purple, orange, red, and a variety of pretty colors. But I like good old blue, too. =) And the grass outside is kind of a brittle brown. We need rain badly.

It really SOUNDS like you WANT a reason not to like us. I mean all the attempts at manipulation, all the accusations, the put-downs...I mean you're doing everything you are saying we are doing. You're putting a lot of energy into proving points about yourself and about us, which shows not only a high level of arrogance, but also trying to force the answer that you want.

Because of its temperature (you can roughly consider it as a black body, therefore its temperature (5700K if my memory is excellent) makes it look yellow.

and blood red??????

Because of the iron in the haemoglobin.

My original supposition: "If you post something as simple as "The sky is blue" youre going to get argued with. Why? Because the minute your name pops up.. thats the response it generates. You seem to have become the anti-christ, so can we see how far it goes?"

OMG !!! I totally missed the point !! How dare you say the sky is blue !!! It's gray today !! You must be outside of your mind !!! And you can tell I am angry at you !! Because I'm using so many exclamation marks !!! You should be tortured for hurling such outrageous things !!

Now granted, the responses were not as bad as I thought they would be. I fully expected a "How dare you say the sky is blue? Its not blue over my house. How dare you assume, you horrible Gorean asshole?" Im rather thrilled that noone actually did that.. but the fact that I assumed they would should probably say something about what Ive been seeing lately.

At any rate.. it was a fun experiment. Have a lovely day everyone.

i sympathise, but i don't think trying to provoke disagreement is the right way. i'm not sure you've been disrepected for being Gor, but if it has happened it is an example of what i have complained about on another thread...we do not show enough respect when we disagree, some of us, prefering instead to attack the poster. *sigh*

The bottom line is - why does anyone have a need to prove anything?
Being true to yourself, and acting with honour, is not only Gorean - but a worthwhile attribute in any person or life.

That which is
That which exists
Does not need 'proof'.

Peace and Love

My mistake. I should have also mentioned the superiority complex. All better now?

Which is really rather silly when you factor in that we're all just a bunch of anonymous people on a website. If he doesn't like us that's reason enough. Having to find excuses for that is juvenile.

Heya pinkpleasures,

Honestly? The original post shouldnt have provoked disagreement. *chuckles* I mean.. it was fairly inocuous. And the whole thing wasnt really meant to be cruel, either. More than anything I found it amusing. His popularity *grins* is a source of constant amusement for me. When he first started posting here I winced... alot. I had hoped he would temper his comments to fit in better and then I realised that wanting that was wanting him to change. Now, I just try to find the humor of it all. I no longer worry about how others take what he says. In the end, it doesnt really matter, afterall. We have a few close friends on these boards that either one or both of us have known for years and the opinion of the rest is.. well.. inconsequential. After all, they dont affect our lives. (But still, I admit, I get a giggle out of it all now)

i dunno Raven but so far as i can remember He's never posted anything that offended me; i think He got jumped pretty badly on another thread, but partially because people did not take the time to read what He actually wrote. And in truth, during any conflict, it is best to be as clear as posssible. However, as i have said, there is no excuse for taking it personal; that is what email is for.
