Yes there are many definitions of "owned". I think the most "striking" instance of my experience regarding this was when I was at a local BDSM club with my then-current sub-slut girl. We'd been seeing each other and scening together for several months at this point, were very familiar with each other and enjoying our relationship together. We'd made no formal "Owner/sub" contract or agreement or anything, but it was generally known in the local community that she was "with me", etc. This particular night she was wearing my collar around her beautiful neck, and standing next to me as we were standing on the edge of the public play area, watching the action, when her OLD Top came up in front of us. He greeted us nicely enough, but then decided that he still had the "right" to reach out and physically not only touch her, but to actually touch, grab, and proceed to "play with" the metal ring set into the leather of my collar, which of course was still around her neck. Not anything rough or yanking it or anything... BUT the mere fact of his unexpected physicality and insulting mien upon what I considered to be MY PROPERTY, AT LEAST FOR THE DURATION OF THE COLLAR AROUND HER NECK THAT EVENING, was very off-putting to not only myself, but also several of the individuals in the immediate area who witnessed it. ONE of those individuals happend to be the director of the club who, of course was familiar with the situation. Needless to say the "gentleman" who acted inappropriatley was given a warning as to his behavior. As for me, I am VERY GLAD I held my temper and took the high road in my reaction to his insulting behavior. So, that incident brings me to what "property" can mean: it can be, like any other property, a temporary possesion, which nevertheless, while it is yours, you may do with it what you wish, including putting up "NO TRESPASSING" signs, so to speak, in the form of a collar or other tags. People that come onto your property, so to speak, ignoring the "NO TRESPASSING" signs are rude and guilty of commiting infractions.
