Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone here can remember the story that surrounds presenting a dom/domme with a red rose as part of your submission. I'm having a mental block as to where I read it...and how it goes.

Apparently you present the rose at the feet of your dom/domme...and if they place it in their left shoulder (peruming they are wearing a jacket..) it means your under consideration...if they place it in on the right shoulder your not what they seek/desire.

I know its a bit vague but I'm sure its quite a famous/old story. Any links to it would be really helpful.

I've heard of  a few variations on this.  Th etrouble is, the sides change in some of them!!
Personally I prefer the good old talking type communication ;)

Sounds too complicated to me. I'm in favor of just asking and having them respond, that way you don't have to run to Google to figure out where you stand.

I see making it part of your collaring ceramony but if I have to bring him a rose to figure out how he feels about me... it's not going to work out. Just tell me or move on.

If I ever found myself in the midst of a roses, thorns, bloodplay, fire play, chain ceremony I would be laughing much too hard to ever consummate the thing.

Why not make up your own ceremony?  After all, all the stuff floating around the internet is just what other folks have made up.  It might as well be personal to you.

So would I.  I don't understand why so many trappings are necessary.  Instead of using that I'd rather do my own thing.  Heck the one time I was collared it wasn't even a ceremony.  I was bound and he put it on my neck.  But then we weren't the most traditional people you are likely to find.

Is that from a story as in fiction or a story as in a reported event?

If you can specify that maybe it will trigger more memories.

Ritual can be beautiful .. but only if it means something to those involved ... if I have to look it up somewhere it obviously wouldnt mean much to me and I would probably screw it up and scar some submissive for life <wink> .....

i'm with what Rover said, about making something up of your own...and i could never personally do the cermony of the roses because i absolutely DETEST those damn things and dont want them anywhere near me.....

Maybe...the ceremony of the Hibiscuses.....hmmmmm goes to write it up [:)]
