I'll still be going to see the Rolling Stones when I'm in my nineties, I'm sure of it!

I know there's got to be a Keith Richards/ fermaldahyde/ walking dead joke in there somewhere.[8D]

i was thinking that i would probably see them when i'm 90- and i'm 22.

Besides, I'll always want to stick around to see the next great invention

LOL, Sanity, and I would go with you..........but I am afraid that at us being 90 the stones would be playing on the holo-deck.

Spock..................out

Well I am a real oldie. Lets just say I was born before WW2 started which was before 1941.
So far I'm still a kinkster, I can get a hard on at least twice a week, and I dont give a fuck.[sm=banana.gif]

I am quite happy but a little bit worried about the future.

Old is 5 years older than I am on any given day .. and I am 59 .... so most of you are not anywhere near old !!

Bloodie 'ell Sanity  either you have a very active sex life or at your age you are verging on impotence lol

Sanity -> RE: Is this what being old feels like? (2/2/2008 3:45:25 PM)

I thought everyone was like this, it's just normal for me. When I'm single it's just a dream thing, at night, but if I have a woman by my side who's easy to look at I'm always aroused, it's always been that way for me. Worse when I was a teen, of course. More managable now, is all.

A friend once said, "Old is halfway between your current age and 100." I have another friend who's about to turn 97. he's not old yet, but she's gettin' close.

No, with the flu you feel exhausted all the time. With old age, the incessant memory loss will make you forget you are exhausted until you try to do something... [;)]

Oh please....being 40 is hardly the end of the good years.  I'll be 40 in June and even with adrenal exhaustion and hypothyroidism, I believe the best is yet to come, albeit after I get my condition under control.  I still have approximately 50 or so more years to go if genetics hold true in my case and I'll be damned if I'm going to sit around moping and waiting for my life to come to an end.  [sm=dance.gif][sm=mrpuffy.gif]

Sanity -> RE: Is this what being old feels like? (2/2/2008 4:03:27 PM)

I agree. I'm working out, flirting, getting sports injuries, learning something new every day. Generally having the best time ever. When I was younger I wasn't nearly as together as I am now, I'm really liking my forties.

heartcream -> RE: Is this what being old feels like? (2/2/2008 4:12:42 PM)

The other day I heard a program on the radio that was saying that when folks reach 70 and by the time they are 75 there is quite a lot of growth going on in their brain. They were saying by that time the frontal Neo-cortex really lights up and they have so much to offer. I always have had a soft spot for older people and have not liked how our society pretty much isolates our old folks. I worked in an old age home when I was younger and some of them were annoying slobs but for the most part, they were lovely with a lot of great humour, wisdom and kindness to share.

As most things, I feel you can work on stuff and help to keep it healthy and or improve. The whole aging thing can be such a drag. Personally I feel getting older is great. I have learned so much in all these years I would not give that up. I feel in the future aging will fade more and more and we wont get all aged. You can see even now folks who are 'older' and look great. I remember when they said 40 is the new 30. The other day I saw, 50 is the new 40.

LotusSong -> RE: Is this what being old feels like? (2/2/2008 4:22:46 PM)

Aging happens gradually.  You adapt.  Many times, what you witnessed, is the result of loss of balance.  The person who may look as if they are exhausted may be just trying not to fall over unexpectedly.

Don't be afraid to offer to help.  It's appreciated. Although some will pridefully say "no, that's alright.. I can manage"   It's better to be offered and be declined than to not and see the person in distress.

laurell3 -> RE: Is this what being old feels like? (2/2/2008 4:25:52 PM)

Well as others pointed out it happens gradually for most people so you really don't realize how much you are changing until one day you find yourself doing something and think omg when did I become my mother?  [8D].  It's not painful so far and age definitely has some wonderful advantages.

MissMagnolia -> RE: Is this what being old feels like? (2/2/2008 4:45:18 PM)

Well, I dunno. I know when I turned 40 my left tit fell off.[sm=noway.gif]

mnottertail -> RE: Is this what being old feels like? (2/2/2008 4:48:37 PM)

That is why I require personal training of my sluts.

You gotta know that the equipment can take it............

You meet at some club and you are demoing cunt and all of a sudden her tits fall off cause you are roughing her up a little?  I don't think even John Warren could recover from that sort of social and political faux paux

LOL OED birthday (Lam spell faux paux for me) I am a journeyman

charmdpetKeira -> RE: Is this what being old feels like? (2/2/2008 5:47:00 PM)

The OP reminds me of the time I had the pleasure of over hearing a conversation, between some guests at a place I worked at for the summer, doing house keeping. The group of elderly folk were discussing the changing of the batteries in their pace makers. (A traumatic experience for a teen.) It was then I decided I would never get “old”.

My aches and pains have nothing to do with my age; and Gram, whom is in her eighties, gets around better then I, most days.
