ThornTheEternal -> Young Masters (2/3/2008 2:20:16 PM)

I ask this question only because it is continually brought up that I am to young to be a true Dominate/Master, So I ask all of you why do you think that is or is not and is age really an issue when we speak of one's personality?

Because the stereotype that most men have no clue what they are doing in relationships and too selfish to care until they are at least 40 is true more often than it is false.

Age isn't an issue when we speak of one's personality, it is an issue when we speak of one's maturity, experience, and perspective.

AN issue, not THE issue, not the ONLY issue, not the more IMPORTANT issue, but an issue, yes.

My advice, coming some someone owned by a man your age, is this:

1. Dominate is a verb, not a noun.
2. Don't make it an issue. Read profiles, don't contact subs/slave if they say they don't want someone in your age range. Don't send letters going "I'm 23 but I'm really mature for my age", just let that show in your words. If anyone bothers you about, politely thank them for their opinion but you disagree and move on.

There will always be people who look down on you for something you can't change. Just try to rise above it.

Why is your response to this anything other than, "but apparently being an asshole has no age limit."  ("being an asshole" meaning "defining TRUE anything")

I tried to perv your profile, but the tiny dark type on a black background is just too much for these old eyes.  You do look older than 23 even with the full pouty lips.  You might want to rethink the journal entries... calling homosexual men "gross" does make you come off sounding very young, in the way that teenagers are young and judgmental.  I'm just sayin'.

Thanky you all for replying also I have changed my font on my profile it was difficult to read after going back and looking at it. Again thank all of you who took the time to respond. Sincerly Thorn.

sweetwenchie -> RE: Young Masters (2/3/2008 2:56:35 PM)

Not sure when you changed it or what you changed, but the colors on the black background are so distracting i am still not sure what i was reading.  [8|]  Then again, i'm an old woman, easily distracted.

laurell3 -> RE: Young Masters (2/3/2008 2:59:56 PM)

If you were age appropriate for me (which you are not and it's only my preferance), the whole dark side of me that I cannot change and negative stuff in the profile would really make me walk away.  You have to accept this about you before you can ask another to or at least not profess it so loudly.

Ewww... does it actually say that?

Edited to add: Does that make sound me young and judgemental? [;)]

~Fast Reply~

To the OP, I wanted to say that I just checked out your profile. Things look pretty good to me so I assume you changed things around. I hope you find what you are looking for!

laurell3 -> RE: Young Masters (2/3/2008 8:38:32 PM)

The profile is much better, but you are right, you are meandering a bit in it the way it is now.  However, the negative content is gone.  When I read that I think I'd like to know more.  Maybe include some vanilla interests as well or unusual things about you so people have more of a common baseline, but great editing so far!

Twitch23 -> RE: Young Masters (2/3/2008 8:40:30 PM)

Better question... would a true master care what anyone else thinks?

IMHO as master you are:

who you are, no equivocation nor validation needed

what you are no equivocation nor validation needed

desire/want that which you want, and any who are unable to accept and meet that, don't matter.

Am I wrong?

Very wrong in my opinion.  There is no "true", we are not roles we are human beings.  A human being that seeks to learn from others and adapt his approach based on good advice and discard bad advice show's leadership skills.  There is nothing un masterly or undomly about asking for advice, quite the contrary.

kittengirl8 -> RE: Young Masters (2/3/2008 9:14:37 PM)

laurell, have I mentioned I love you? You seem to say what I want so much better than I do. So... just apply ~kitten~ to the bottom of laurell's post for me, kay?

And OP, you seem like a good guy. (What? I'm a sucker for people who ramble!) A question I have is what age range of sub are you looking for? Just out of curiousity. That might change some things up.

I know that I personally like Doms close to my age just as much as older. I don't care if a guy has "10 years experience" since we're all always learning anyway. And you have to learn the sub anyway - so you're starting all over anytime you have someone new. Erm, in my opinion anyway.

So, right, my point... (Other than the resounding "Dominate is a verb") Kind of like I just wrote in that physically attracted to Dom thread.. A lot of the time it's all about your presence, at least for me. I'm more likely to respond to someone who can articulate, joke, and connect with me. No matter what age a person is, that's always hard for so many people.

Best of luck.

~kitten~

MissMagnolia -> RE: Young Masters (2/3/2008 9:17:31 PM)

[sm=applause.gif]I completely agree with ya Laurell. I think people really do forget that we are human beings who happen to also be D or s.

RedMagic1 -> RE: Young Masters (2/3/2008 9:18:13 PM)

Yeah, Twitch.  What she said.  This isn't a comic book.  People learn from one another, make mistakes, and try again.  Or ---- they wank on the Internet and never meet actual woman-beings.  The OP's absolutely doing the right thing.  You might want to take notes.

laurell3 -> RE: Young Masters (2/3/2008 9:19:24 PM)

Heh thanks guys (blushes).

Twitch23 -> RE: Young Masters (2/3/2008 10:33:52 PM)

No thanks... I'm much more comfortable with the "woman beings" that can actually handle me for who I am, rather than changing that for a piece of ass. Works great for me too ;)

Who said anyone needed to change themselves for any reason? But, as you call women a "piece of ass", maybe you need to rethink that.
