Again - what does patience have to do with it if there is an all clear from a doctor?

None of my posts said anything about an "all clear".

differences of opinion, things changing between when my two were born and now....
last I knew, I was stating my opinion...not arguing.
I apologize if I've offended anyone.

But it was stated that if a woman couldn't wait she was being selfish.

again, no disrespect intended, that post was not mine.

I will stick to my opinion, though, that nine months really isn't all that long to wait...

as for endorphins... my mistake...I was thinking of cortisol.  Again, please accept my apologies.

Not only is it safe to have sex while a woman is pregnant. Doctors will tell women who are near their birthing time to have sex and help labor along.

That's what my doc told me when I was one week over term.  It worked too, and it beats the heck out of medically induced labor.

There was not anything I was told not to do, except drink, smoke, etc.  Horseback riding was just fine.

Thank goodness for the women who are card-carrying members of the mothers with intelligence (or perhaps future mothers) who are on here, as well as the well-informed men (like scifi) who have actual medical information which has been heard first hand.  I just about hit the roof when I read a few of the first posts about women who have sex during pregnancy being selfish.  OMG!!!  Spoken like a man who will never know what it's like to carry a baby and still, for the sake of all things precious, be a WOMAN with normal desires and abilities (unless she's restricted by her medical professional in some way).  I am so sick and tired of people acting like a women's menstrual cycle or her hormone levels during pregnancy render her a useless, second-rate human, who needs to be steered clear of, lest someone lose an eye.

The greeks and romans in antiquity thought that women were often rendered nearly insane because of their uterus.  Hysteria = "wandering womb."  So, how much more sexist and stupid can you get?

Normal pregnancies and healthy women with healthy unborn little people mean that the activities you are used to doing, you can do within reason, with the approval of your ob/gyn.  Lots of women find their pregnant bodies very sexy and the estrogen surge makes some feel more amourous.  Doctors don't usually cart pregnant women off to a nunnery for the remainder of their gestation.  Good grief, how archaic can some people be in their thinking!!!

As many of my sub women colleagues have said, submission is more than having your Dom drag you off caveman style and phuk you till your uterus pops out of your ear.  Geez!!!  If that is what folks are thinking, I would strongly suggest reading some great books written on the subject of WIITWD.

It's also true that sex in the last days of healthy pregnancy is suggested to ripen the cervix a bit and help labor come on.  It's also true that in a healthy pregnancy, the uterine contractions that occur with orgasm are like an internal "hug" to the baby.  It doesn't hurt them, it actually has been found to be quite soothing to them if there are no pre-existing reasons why the mothers-to-be should not be having orgasms.  (I'm a mom twice, have had the information given to me both times, and my sister-in-law is a nurse midwife.)

Before you post something, please make sure that the things you are saying have some sort of factual basis to them, otherwise the people who know for sure will certainly inform you of the error of your statements.

So, by all means, because it would be restricted for some, then ALL must follow suit.

Again, common sense should prevail and "play" activities discussed with an obgyn as to their saftey within your own PERSONAL pregnancy.

~FR~

i haven't finished reading the replies so i don't know if it's been mentioned yet or not, but also there is a hormone released when a woman orgasms that is either petosin or like petosin (the stuff they give to induce).....not just in the semen.

i am all for the having sex until the end as long as the doctor doesn't say differently for "you" personally.....i had sex through most of mine and then i had to take a couple of months off, then at the end i was allowed to(have sex) again and it helped move along my labor at a time when it was kinda "stuck"

Being pregnant doesn't mean you have to give up the lifestyle. Is that from "True Dom 101 " or something? Being submissive isn't just about the physical either, a woman might have to modify some activities, unless a high risk pregnancy  not a whole lot changes while being pregnant. Being honest with your OB/GYN helps too.

Yes there is prejudice against pregnant women due to the lack of education and understanding about a woman's body while she is pregnant. A pregnant woman doesn't suddenly become less human because she desires sexual intercourse,  or wants to be submissive, or dominant. Actually she becomes more aware of her desires and body while pregnant- this is the best time for her to explore.

Women can have sex up to their 8th month and actually they tend have stronger and better orgasms throughout their pregnancy. Pregnant women tend to not only desire sex while pregnant their partners tend to desire them as well.

I would take it easy on the heavy play and simply relax into what is enjoyable for both mother & child. I find that the treatment of women period in D/s is not always respectful or open. Women have been subjected to this deragotory nonsense for centuries. Hopefully it will change?

Please refer to previous posts throughout wherein it has been noted that the "cut-off" point for normal sexual relations is not a definitive at any particular month, including month 8.  It varies from woman to woman, and in some they can go up to the point of delivery.

I don't post too much around here, but this one really got to me. I was working at a mental hospital restraining mentally ill UMs in various positions all over the damn place until I was 7 months pregnant. It would make no sense for someone to tell me that being flogged, caned, or spanked would be anymore dangerous than an incredibly strong, pissed off UM that doesn't care that you are pregnant and just wants to kick your ass because you set limits with them. The only reason that I couldn't after my seventh month was because my blood pressure got too high too often. Other women that I worked with did the same things until days before healthy UMs were born. I would've gladly traded being flogged and having that kind of endorphin high instead of the frustration endorphin high. If anyone has ever had to actually restrain an angry person they know that it is hard, exhausting work. Honestly, my blood pressure probably wouldn't have been an issue had I known about subspace then.

Unborn UMs are incredibly safe inside the womb. They are very resilient little buggers. Obviously I wouldn't want anything hitting my stomach at that point, but I am pretty sure that even right now I don't want something hitting my stomach. There are too many fragile parts in there now that just belong to me! And of course if there is an issue with the pregancy then I would do exactly as my doctor says. Stuff like this makes me really wonder if people still think that we are in a "fragile" state when we are pregnant.
