I agree with everything that has been said, particularly about being most appreciative of the things that just seem to happen and I don't notice them until she's not around: the coffee is ready for me to push the button in the morning on the machine dishwasher is loaded and run garbage and recycling are out and there is a new bag in the can or this weekend when I was taking my normal long walk with a close friend early in the morning and my boi was meant to be sleeping, I got home to find that she'd been cleaning all morning and the house was amazing... but this week -- the big thing, we both have 6 days off and had been back and forth on several ideas on what to do with the time, and finally on Sunday evening she looked at me and said "do you want to go see your mother" going to see my Mother, WITH me, is a chore I don't wish on the most devoted slave -- I am beyond a handful around my aging and frustrating Mother -- it was an amazing and selfless offer, she knows what she's in for, including the 16 hour drive that she will do, as I don't like driving visiting my Mother is a chore for me, but I do it as often as possible, because she's my Mother and I love her that means more to me than any I love you right now
