ORIGINAL: rain What have others tried that they found to be fearful, intense, and amazing? (the more descriptive, the better) I love breathplay, in a variety of forms. Probably the most effective way is a CPR mask with the breath hole covered - the mask gives a good seal, so I really can't breathe. I have a weird reaction to it though; I wave my hands in the air, but i never try to get the mask off. Strange. (Suz can likely tell you better than me, since she's the one holding the mask in place.) I like hands around my throat too (carotid pressure), because of the rush, and the "in your face" feeling it gives me. I'm not such a big fan of a hand over my mouth/nose, simply because it never seems particularly effective. There's a huge rush in breathplay, for me - the fear combined with the physical reaction to lack of oxygen can really push my buttons. But, for it to work, it has to be "real". I really have to be unable to breathe, or it's all just playing pretend which doesn't do much for me. I think that's why I like the cpr mask so much. The top can see clearly, because the mask is see-through and doesn't cover much of the face, so s/he can watch for physical signs of danger; my eyes aren't obstructed, so I can maintain some connection with him/her, and I really can NOT breathe around a well inflated mask. Carotid pressure isn't really breathplay, but it gives me a similar rush. By exerting pressure on the carotid arteries, a skilled top can control the flow of oxygen bearing blood to the brain. I find it's a nice addition to a sedentary scene like needles. It adds to the rush, but doesn't break the mood.
