And I think any one who supports such a lame idea should be banned from eating out as well.

I think it's a great idea, but it belongs in the 'controversial opinions' thread.

I hope I wasn't responsible for your feeling this way. I was laughing because Pahunkboy referred to himself as "cattle."

I think anyone that gets upset about smallminded stupid shit like fat threads needs to have their head examined.

Come on now people! This subject comes up in one form or another almost daily. We all know that there are fat people, fluffy people, BBP, or whatever the hell phrase some self hating fat person came up with to try and make themself feel better. We all know there are fools that are grossed out by fat people. We all know that there are thin people that love to feel superiour to fat people. HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Why keep feeding into such stupid shit???

If your fat and that touchy, either do the work to get UNfat or ignore the rude comments. It's rather like a fire, take away the fuel and the fire goes out.

AND before you go jumping all over my shit, my ass ain't skinny either. But I don't care if someone thinks that's a terrible thing. It is just their opinion. Opinions are like assholes, we all have one and many of us are one.

So why did this thread all of a sudden turn into chinese haters and making fun of obese people??? i guess most of the of people on this thread are discriminatory against bigger people, and know only chinese jokes. Hmm interesting. It's not just chinese people, but people of all race. And thank you OrionTheWolf, i have to agree with your opening statement," will you STFU about fat chinese now? i have nothing against bigger people, actually my Dom is a bigger guy and he's the most cuddly person i've met. Plus when we go to a buffet, he will only go up a couple times and that's it. i am not an overweight/obese person in anyway, but i still don't get why you all of a sudden refer only to chinese buffet lines and only chinese people. There are other types of buffets out there and other people.

Sensitive much? Jokes are just that, jokes. Look at profiles before you decide everyone in here is a skinny person making fun of a fat person.

It happens in every single thread that talks about weight, get used to it, it's the drama that will never end.

Dagnabit, darlin' you've gone and made me curious. Ain't you a daisy?

So, why does a person who's grossed out or not attracted to a fat person have to be a fool? Would that be like how a gay person is a fool for not being turned on by the opposite sex?

Are we not allowed to have the attractions and unattractions that are ingrained in our heads?

Actually no, Cher looks like, and is, a skank. You don't look like a skank to me.

It's such a ridiculous proposition for a law that I can't believe anybody's taking it seriously. Something very similar came up a couple of weeks ago, because two Congressmen from Mississipi are trying to pass a similar law.

It's unconstitutional, so it's obviously doomed; it's a matter for a laugh, nothing more, nothing less.

To whomever thought I was supporting it, by the way... I was being sarcastic: sorry if it came across as if I was seriously in favour of it.

Hi LaTigresse...I agree with You, to a degree.  People should not let these opinions bother them; and should not add fuel to the fire.

Yet, when I see people that I love being bullied, picked on, humiliated and discriminated against because of their weight (and I see how it hurts them)- I can't help but get my hackles up.  Maybe my loved ones need thicker skin to go with their bigger bodies.  But, I'm sorry- nobody has a reason to make them feel that way to make themselves feel better.  While I'm all for turning the other cheek if an offense is against me, it's a different story when I see others I care about that are hurt by such careless and rude remarks.

I love when people shake their heads in disbelief and call things silly when they haven't even read the article. This law has already done its intended job. It got everyone talking about the problem.

You've missed my point then. Hell, I am not attracted to really overweight people either. Nor am I attracted to really thin people. No foolishness in either of those things in my mind. It becomes foolishness when you haunt every thread that mentions the subject and use it to snarkily snipe at that which you do not find attractive. Especially when you are fully aware it will be hurtful.

Ahh, I guess I'm no daisy at all, then. I thought maybe that's what you meant, but I had to ask anyway.

I'm not attracted to the really thin either. The ones who look like skeletons are just....creepy.

The problem for me and others is sometimes that healthy foods, gym membersips, and personal trainers are way beyond reach for someone that is extremely poor. Healthy foods are very expensive compared to fast foods and unhealthy foods. Just take a look in the grocery stores. When you are on an extremely low budget you have to pretty much get whatever you can afford and what you can afford is 99 percent not healthy.

Me and my family actually run out of food about two times per month every month. Every time this happens we usually have only a very tiny amount of money left which goes immediatly to fast foods or whatever else we can afford or get our hands on. Sometimes we will go for about a week or two skipping many meals and by the end of that time we are so ravenous and hungry we all over eat big time and then the cycle conintues.

As far as special programs I want to say that there really aren't as many as people might seem and there are alot of restrictions on the programs that are actually available. In fact, according to their money scale, my mother herself makes too much money for them to help us yet we are constantly struggling with bills....

Anyways...personal trainers are far too expensive. I saw one once for a consultation and since I am on Social Security Income I don't make nearly enough to hire one. Even when she offered to have a payment plan and reduce the price I still could not barely afford it and pay my bills, and get food at the same time.

Gym memberships also may seem cheap to people that make decent or average livings but for someone poor every little bit to spent takes away from food and bills so they are hard also to do.

Of course I can work out at home and cut back portions but really, some people need alot more motivation than that and with my situation im sure you can see some of the problems involved. Sometimes loosing weight is just too expensive and too hard to do on your own. And don't even get me started on support groups...there are none that I know of in my area and even if there were they couldn't help me with my money problems.

Anyways I think it very offensive not to let people into resteraunts if the bill gets passed. Fat people are equal to everyone else and have every right to eat wherever they like and what they want. That is free choice. If someone else is disgusted it really is there problem anyways.

hmm. so, if this did actually become law, how would they test obesity? would they have a scale at the entrance?

It's obvious that Restaurant owners will not be able to afford a Certified Health Professional to constantly give weight and fat to muscle ratio test to customers. And what owner is going to tell a paying customer "Sir I'm sorry but you appear to be to fat to eat in my establishment."

For such a drastic measure to work, another law would have to be passed where obessed people will have to be registered in a Data Base. Only a hand full of chosen health professionals who are certifed to give Obesity Test can remove you from the list. A special badge or paper saying you can now eat wherever you can afford to buy the goods.

Your weight and obesity records can be documented on your Drivers Liscense/I.D. It'll be swiped in a scaner as if you where wanting to buy alcohol or tobaco.

For everytime you renew your I.D. you have to be weighed and tested for obesity along with your vision test. That way, your I.D. will show that you're clinically obese. Restaurants who refuse to card people will suffer penalties.

Make sense?
