I think that anyone under the age of 30 should be required to drive an mechanically unenhanced 3 cylinder vehicle (without a pumped up stereo or loud pipes).
I also think that everyone should be required to take defensive driving courses periodically as a condition of keeping a driving license (the frequency of said courses increasing with age).

Heh... Camembert is about as fancy as I get.

Aswad, for a Scandinavian you're not doing too badly with Camembert. A Cam's that's been left to rot for a week or so is as close to a nuclear bomb as you can get, in a domestic setting. We call it 'coulant'. Man, my mouth is watering.

Gammalot? Never heard of it, and a quick search wasn't fruitful. Leads, please.

Gammelost simple mispelling on al-Aswads part (although that may be a valid way to spell, considering)
It means 'old' cheese (cheese made the old way)

Gammelost will bring you up all kinda links

Ron
perhaps there is a controversial opinion about how gammelost should be spelled?

I appreciate the sentiment, but you're probably not aware that, in the early 70s, Kawasaki made a 3-cylinder, 500cc, 2-stroke bike that, in stock form, could go from 0 to 60 mph in, like, 3 or 4 seconds and probably top out at 130 mph. Stock pipes and no stereo. So we need to specify that the 3-cylinder vehicle be a car.

Nope... in fact, let me expand on my original thought.... I don't think the under-30 crowd  should be allowed anywhere near sportbikes, or any two wheeled vehicle over 250cc (unmodified, as well)

What about those really really tiny scooters that are styled like GP bikes but only go 20-30 mph and make the rider look like the proverbial monkey trying to fuck a football? Those should be okay, right?

Those things should be illegal, IMO, for use on anything but backyards.  But yeah, those might not be so bad for the group LOL

Most controversial opinion......

I think all brewing companies brewing anything other than English ale in this land, should be targetted, harassed and put of business......

Closely followed by stripping some of these pompous hunting clowns of their clothes, giving them half an hour to run and then going after them with dogs trained to rip their arms and legs off...........'see how they like it.....

I don't begrudge you a bit of ammonia or lye, but I'm afraid my palate runs and hides at the mere thought.

I didn't say I could take a ton of it. Just that a slice can make for good candy from time to time.

An entirely uncontroversial opinion: leaving a Camembert in the fridge for a week will nuke any susceptible food in there.

Gamalost... just click on the link in the post you replied to.

To put it this way: leaving it out for a week won't make any difference.

Health,
al-Aswad.

Sorry, but you have to leave Strongbow and Bowmore, else there will be Holmgang.

Mmm.... If i had the money, i absolutely would have bought a Triumph Speed Triple as my second bike...very tasty machine. i could live with that.

Oh, another one that a previous post reminded me of- One should not propose a restrictive new law unless they are willing to kill a family member for violating it (as all laws are essentially based on the ability of the State to escalate force to the lethal level without fear of retribution)

There's merit in the recommendation; our West Country natives will lynch me in the event their cider goes missing.

'Just looked up Holmgang...a duel to the death eh.....it has been a long time since I had to set about someone with a sword, and cider simply isn't worth wasting a human life :-)

Quite a few years ago, we had an extension built onto the family home. The builders would take their tea breaks in my kitchen and I'd make their tea, offer cakes/biscuits, then get on with whatever else I needed to do. One of the quartet asked another, "Good fun last night?", to which he replied, "Yep, found three dens, all full with litters. The dogs had a lot of fun. Had to break the backs of the mothers to stop them running."  I was so enraged I walked up to the guy and punched him once in the face, knocking him off his chair. I had him tossed off of the property. I did invite him to call the police as he had been assaulted by me. He opted not to.

Excellent. That said, I had a modified version in mind, involving much libation, but still on a holme.

I was thinking tweezers and a pen torch, but your alternative works.

Sounds like a reasonable course of action. I would probably just have lost it right there.

All politicians wanted to be elected to office should undergo a porn casting, with the results being used to torture terrorist suspects. This is a lateral thinking problem like the one involving Anthony and Cleopatra lying dead on a damp patch in a villa, how did they die? etc.

in addition to this, i think alot of drivers should have to learn to read road and parking signs. here, in Columbus, GA. alot of drivers don't know what a stop sign or a FIRE LANE sign is. and there's at least on cop here that need to learn what a blue handicap marking is. this cop seems to double as a security gaurd (for lack of a better description) for the local Cricket cell phone store and parks in the blue-stripped handicapped area nearby.
