Love is a feeling you can't describe, if you could describe it, then it sounds like you are making an excuse for it. Unfortunatly in this temporary society we live in, if true love last for more then a few years, consider yourself lucky.

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
Oh, baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

What is love
Yeah

Oh, I don't know why you're not there
I give you my love, but you don't care
So what is right and what is wrong
Gimme a sign

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh
Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh

Oh, I don't know, what can I do
What else can I say, it's up to you
I know we're one, just me and you
I can't go on

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh
Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh

What is love, oooh, oooh, oooh
What is love, oooh, oooh, oooh

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

Don't hurt me
Don't hurt me

I want no other, no other lover
This is your life, our time
When we are together, I need you forever
Is it love

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more (oooh, oooh)

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more (oooh, oooh)

What is love?

Love is your best friend.  Someone who stands beside you even when you make stupid mistakes.  The person who can finish your thoughts without you speaking.
Love is the person who gives you the hug when you need it without you having to ask.

Doug tells me love is the other half of you, the one who completes you.

With the right person hopefully love lasts a lifetime.  It did for my mother and father.
I can only hope to be that blessed as well.

It's a chemical reaction that happens in the brain. Nothing more, nothing less.

Some people see it as such Greedy, yes.
But to comprehend love, you need the verb.
I wrote on my blog about love recently... hesitating and contemplating posting it... dunno...

It would be great if you posted it.

Without wanting to sound like a hopeless romantic, I have to say that to me love is everything. I don't see a division between romantic love and other kinds of love. Love is just love; and the.dark. yes, 'to love' is much neglected.

Love is all. It starts with myself, for if I don't love myself, I won't love others as I should... and hopefully it trickles down to everything I know. And do.

Is love just a feeling, or is it an action too?

It is a  hormonal reaction that over time develops into a deep and abiding kinship.

I'm a sucker for believing that what makes us human is more than mere chemical reactions in our brains, and I believe love IS one of those things that defines our humanity. What do you think?

.verb.

Some people do not believe in love.
They believe it is some emotion that doesn’t really mean anything.

Some people are too afraid to say love.
They think it exposes them up to heartbreaks and they fear it’s context.
Some people say that they can control love.
They see it only as a commodity to be bought or sold or stolen away.
Some people waste the three precious words of love.
It is repeated over and over like some mantra that takes away its significance.
Some people believe in only one form of love.
They believe that it extends beyond so many things and ignore the diversity of love.

They see it as a noun. Or they see it as an adjective.
I do not.
-----------------------
I also have this quote, It's Neil Gaiman I think - but I may be wrong.

quote:

"Have you ever been in love?  Horrible isn't it?  It makes you so vulnerable.  It opens your chest and opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up.  You build up all these defences, you build up a whole suit of armour, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life… You give them a piece of you.  They didn't ask for it.  They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages.  It gets inside you.  It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart.  It hurts.  Not just in the imagination.  Not just in the mind.  It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain.

I hate love."

My answer to this is very very difficult to put into words. Especially in a way that doesn't make me sound like a total freak but........what the hell.

For me it is an energy that connects everything. It transends all physical boundaries. It just is. I think that we find people in our life that we have a much stronger exchange of that energy with and sometimes it is even painful or destructive. I think our ego's try to define it, mould it into what we think it should be, deny it, contain it, make rules for it, or even create it.

I think we far too often confuse love with lust when it doesn't necessarily have to have anything at all to do with it.
