Yes, it's very strange that you do not have body issues when you are exactly what the entire planet is telling every woman they should be, all day, every day, from the moment they are born until the moment they die.

I doubt that's why. I don't have body issues because I pay no attention to the media. I generally have no idea what is in style or which celeb is which. It does not matter what you look like. If you pay attention to cosmo, then you are going to have issues.

Models are teenagers selected for height and thinness who are then given 100K to let an agency own their body. The agency tells them to be really skinny and live off coffee and cigs. Then they have professional photographers, also selected from thousands, who take hundreds of pics of them for a shoot with about 400K worth of lighting and camera equipment. The put a pound of make up on and retouch it every ten minutes. Then the photographer chooses the best photo and remasters and and puts it next to some product. And why the fuck would that make me care what the model looks like or what the product is. I don't go to the mall. I don't do my hair and nails. Bunch of garbage I don't need. And I sure do not care if I look like some industry standard for an industry that I'm not part of at all.

I don't care if Maria Sherapova can play tenis 1000X better than me and I don't care if supermodel X looks 1000X more marketable than me or if celebX is a whole lot thinner than me. That's their damned job anyways.

Men are competitive dipshits. Half of them feel their lives have no purpose unless some girls are considered more attractive than others. They can't deal with the "all women are beautiful thing" because then no one can brag to their friends about some more hot than average girl they banged.

Don't pay attention to the media and don't pay attention to players and the body issues just go away.

This is why when I buy clothing (especially pants), I look for brands that size clothes based on measurments. This means I, a. don't have to guess at whether I'm a size 4 or a size 8, and b. I don't feel like a fatass when I end up having to go with the 8.

Sizing is something almost exclusively done in womens clothing, and the size zero is a result of vanity sizing designed specifically to target the insecurities of women in a weight and size obsessed culture. It's not so much the size itself that people hate, but the way it artificially creates an ideal size.

Actually, sizes in general are artificial and arbitrary, so if we really wanted to do away with the whole issue, we could just get rid of the size system in general and go with measurments. But that will never happen because Calvin Klein knows that if their 30 inch waist is a size four compared to Levi's six, they're going to sell more jeans.

Try a 36 DD on a 5'2" woman of around 125, and my back hurts all the time.  Do you larger breasted ladies have back problems?

I could dream to be a 36DD.

And to answer, no, though I've got large breasts they have never specifically caused me back problems. Wearing a bad bra has. Not exercising has.

It's probably been said, but... why can't women's clothing be sized like men's? It's so much simpler... maybe include hips with waist... so W/H/I (waist/hips/inseam) in the sizing.

Then again some men's clothes have variation, too. One company's 40" waist isn't another's (which I've never understood).

Arpig -> RE: size 0 haters- what's the deal? (4/8/2009 1:42:33 PM)

My question is why there is now a need for a size 0, when there never used to be...are women getting tinier?

There have always been thin women. It's not a new evolutionary leap.  However, size 0 was introduced when teens, and tweens began demanding more adult style clothing.  Size zero isn't generally worn by women out of their teens.

whispers back...I hate people ressurecting old and stupid threads worse than size 0's, esp. when people still keep on replying to it after the lovely LaT whispers it so nicely. [;)].

Now that's something I've always wondered about!
You see two woman in the same jeans same waiste size. Only one of those woman's ass is bigger than the other's. Do they size woman's pants by their ass size too?

It's still a topic. [8|] It's not like they don't make size 0 anymore since the 2008 post.

Personally... I wouldn't want to be size zero again... but I did like myself as a 4!

Aynne88 -> RE: size 0 haters- what's the deal? (4/8/2009 2:57:26 PM)

It just seems to be rampant lately Lynnx, even among people that aren't new.

Yes, having looked at your pics, I can not imagine you as a 0. You look perfect as a 4. Most women I know that are 0's look like little boys. Unless they get fake breasts, and huge fake D's on a size 0 hipless assless woman is just wierd. [8|].

Lynnxz -> RE: size 0 haters- what's the deal? (4/8/2009 3:06:35 PM)

Aynne88 -> RE: size 0 haters- what's the deal? (4/8/2009 4:32:55 PM)

So mike, does that mean that you, myself and kittin are all pervs? [;)]. Im'a gonna say Oui!

sophia37 -> RE: size 0 haters- what's the deal? (4/8/2009 6:02:06 PM)

I remember being a size zero way back when. Then I was along the way a 2, then a 4 a 6 a 8 a 10 and um a ten. lolol Still a ten! So my question is, well? so? Size zero is just a size some of us are as we walk thru life. its not a political statement for heavens sake! Why dont we just freak out over size 22's if that's the case. I dont even know if there is a such a thing as a 22. Just like people wonder if there is such a thing as a size 0.
