"You don't know what you want in life, let me show and guide you"

Missokyst -> RE: Who buys that? (2/13/2008 4:55:42 PM)

A surprising number of dominant profiles I see in this and other sites use similar lines.
"I will train you to be the woman you were meant to be"
"You will grow in your submissiveness"
"I will guide you to become what you need"
ect ect ect.
My question is inevidibly, what are your qualifications?

Well  at times I have laughed at  some of these lines myself. When Master and I met several years ago .... I came to understand the term "I will train you to be the woman you were meant to be"  he never came right out and said that. But in so many ways he showed it ... I am not new to  this  but there were so damn many thing inhibiting me in one way or another. I wasnt who I wanted to be or could be.
This time ( split for 2 1/2 years) when I came back he did  tell me those words along with  a few others I knew were coming.. this time.... I  didnt  laugh

Just to play devil's advocate a bit....I think a lot of men write those things because they think that's what the women in here want to hear.  We hear complaints from Doms that subs have told them "You're not Dom enough!", so perhaps they're just trying harder?  Not that that makes it any more palatable, lol.

I totally agree.  I think people say things because that is what they were taught to believe.  It may not be (and probably isn't) the way things end up for most of them, but the line looks good on the resume~.

Glad I could help..

We had a British buddy who we used to call Tea Bag... It used to elicit giggles from *everyone* He never figured out it was slang for anything else other then a cup of tea... *Evil Grins* he just thought we were a bunch of funny yanks.

Subs can be just as bad at sounding like some cheesy "story of O" nonsense.

No question about that in my mind... but it beats bad poetry.

So many seem to babble about molding-you would think you were dealing with a couple hundred pounds of silly putty.
