When I see "Drama Queens", I think of Vanessa Redgrave, Maggie Smith, Dame Judy Dench. Man, I would LOVE to see one of them here.

WOW  no kidding.  Judy Dench would kick all our asses.

I have not noticed anymore drama among BDSM people than any other group. Maybe it is you?

Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. One look from Bette could wither most people! It was once said of her, "Bette Davis would probably have been burned as a witch if she had lived two or three hundred years ago. She gives the curious feeling of being charged with power which can find no ordinary outlet".

using fast reply......

I think drama and passion can be two vastly different things. To me, drama in this context, is simply a lack of self control and maturity.

Passion can be channeled to drive people to achieve great things, and unfortunately sometimes, terrible things. This is one personality trait I find quite lacking in many US citizens and I am not sure why. Living life with passion. I wonder if it was our puritan beginnings....

It's to be expected from a culture conditioned to eqalitarian mediocrity-rather than meeting and overcoming challenges.

When we start rewarding our members for being superior-instead of penalizing them-things will change.

When you insist on running at convoy speed so the retards can keep up-all you have is everyone traveling at retard speed.

Hard to live with passion when your struggling to keep up with the rising bills and raiseing a family. Living with job downsizing and paycuts. Watching the prices raising above your level of income. Equalitrain mediocrity. What crap.

I deal with the same issues. Doesn;t stop me from  working on the side to better myself-rather than just sit on my ass and whine about something I *can* do something about.

Apathy IS what egalitarian mediocrity is all about, and americans have that in spades. They won't even vote.

Regardless of whatever other issues are going on under the table here......

I have to agree. I've met people from other parts of the world that are no better off financially yet, they have different priorities, and yes.....they live with passion.

most of my oppinions on drama have already been stated so I will through this out towards the ANTI-anti-drama annoyances.

as you read through all this there are some people who are so OVERTLY against drama that you can't even approach them about normal every day life.

"you know I care about you, you know I'm there for you. but don't bring me your drama"
"I just got laid off. I just wanted to get your advice about your career. but since you are being such a dick I guess I'll just keep it all bottled up"

keep in mind that there are certain levels of drama involved with life and human interaction. hollywood was built on it.
Cheers

As soon as I hear someone gossiping at an event, I turn away (politely) and find someone else to talk to.

That might be the most intelligent thing I've ever heard.

I can’t believe this, why do people always feel the need to persecute me where ever I go. I too have had a hard life you know, I didn’t know what my name was until I was ten because my parents always called me him. Now I come here for some ‘like mindedness’ and there is no like mindedly people anywhere. I despair I really do. I shall leave now as you obviously all hate the person I am! You'll be sorry when you hear on the news the tragic story of my end. On your heads be it.

Is it just me, or does this lifestlye community seem to attract drama queens?? ...how do you handle drama within your bdsm family/community??

I tend to hold up a mirror...

This is a positive reaction, seems to me.
Gives the person USEFUL FEEDBACK.

All to often, we are blind to how we are perceived.

Maybe they will accept the gift, maybe they won't.

I agree with you LaT. "Drama" is far from the same as being passionate or having extreme feelings.

Those great actors live life to the fullest...they feel deep pain, great excitement, and unending love. But I know everyday people who live like that.

People who are "drama" are those who love to create chaos to bring either more attention to themselves or get attention off of someone else.

Ironic...drama in a drama thread.  :)

I'll second this agreement.  My mother grew up in poverty in post Civil War Spain.  A family of 14 children and her father could find no work.  The stories they tell would be dreadful to most, but wow, to see them all gathered around a table, laughing, loud, loving life, loving each other, passionate in everything they do...most of them saying they wouldn't have changed a thing about their upbringing...I love it.  One of the jokes they all laugh about is there was never any whining at bed time.  With one bedroom and one bed, whoever was late had to sleep on the floor as there was no more room on the crowded bed.  :)  To hang out with these people is an experience.

This begs the question. How many people here are living life with a passion. As far as voting goes. We have the right to vote or not to vote. As far as who we vote for if you dont like who we elect then run for office yourself. What makes anyones country better than ours. Sorry op.
