My question...  Do you take care of your pet when he/she is sick?

Of course.  It doesn't matter whether they have four legs or two; it's still an owner's responsibility.

In the case of the two legged pets, the owner's practical degree of responsibility may be somewhat diminished since presumably an adult human does have other recourse.  But the ethical and emotional degree of responsibility is the same for a human pet.  Otherwise we're not talking about a pet, we're talking about a simple piece of property.  Some people do have relationships where one partner is a slave, a simple piece of property that exists for the convenience of the other and may or may not be cared for, cherished and valued.  I don't think that "pet" would be a good description of that kind of relationship however.   Also it's entirely possible to cherish, value and care for a piece of property, if it's good property that is worth the investment of your time and energy.

I may not want Mistress to make a fuss over me when I'm sick, but it doesn't mean I'll get what I want.  Mistress has this notion that She's somehow the boss of me and I'm going to lay there and take the love, care, and pampering She's going to give to help me recoup faster!  Problem is...She's seems to be always right. [:D]

I know if She gets sick, I'm definitely going to take care of Her.  All I have to do is seal myself in rubber from head to toe, slap on the gasmask, and I'm good to go.  LOL  Hell, Mistress will probably get sick of me nursing Her back to health.

To all you sickos out there...get well soon!

MistressOfGa,

--- First of all, I hope Shawn and Elan
--- both feel better soon.

Oops.  I didn't mean to be rude by not replying!  When I scrolled through the thread, I missed your comment.  Thank you.  I've got at least until this coming weekend until this flu thing burns itself out, but it may go into next week too.  Bleck.  It's been quite a while since I've been really sick.  I'd forgotten how much this sucks.  Thank you again MoGa. :-)

Elan.

Fox is doing a bit better, a few days of lots of sleeping should do the trick. I have him here until Sunday night. DAyquil/ Nyquil and having absolutely no one to bother him for 8 hrs a day while im working should help.
As for Valentines Day... we will have dinner and watch TV... and play video games, and if he's a good fox he might even get a kiss. Though, if I got sick froom having him here he'd die.
