Asking for tributes upfront.... sure seems to be a lot of Pros out there.... must be very discouraging for the newbies.

So...your profile lists you as a "Dominant"...are you saying that you're being approached by Dommes, requesting tribute, from "you?"

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Offensive Introductions (9/13/2005 11:51:12 AM)

There probably are a lot of pros out there, myself included, though I am not on collarme looking for clients.

Which would you prefer, someone who is up front about being a pro dominant, or someone who sticks her hand out after leading someone on? Many of the men on here are more suited to a pro relationship anyway. (cynical, but true!)

No, of course not, I am just hearing of this from subs I have spoken with and reading about it in their journals.

Yes, there are a lot of Pros.. so what? Not everyone on the site is Pro. If you don't like the idea of Pro, don't use one. Of course, that limits a sub's options severely, since those few of us who are totally lifestyle only, are able to choose from the cream of the crop where subs are concerned. That means a sub has to stand out. He has to be something special. Most men aren't willing to put the time or effort into it. As was mentioned, a good many of the sub men on this site are way better suited to visiting a Pro, than they would be to living as a sub.

Now.. why does a Dom care about the number of Pro Domme around? Are you a switch listed as a Dom looking for a Domme? Are you jealous that you can't charge? Not quite sure what the motivation was for posting your short rant.

Very cynical LOL....and alas, very true.

Interesting how "lifestyle" is often interpreted to as "will play with you for free" meaning no investment of self, no courting, no relationship, no need to be upfront about anything, and god forbid the Domme would expect the gent to actually <gasp> take her to dinner once in a while.

Thank goodness there's still some boys out there who still know how to treat a woman AND are submissive.

I agree. My bet is that men who are comfortable with the idea of courtship have significantly less problems encountering lifestyle women who are looking for their counterparts.
The type who complains a lot about pros is probably the same who tends to complain about doing anything for anyone else where there isn't a direct/immediate gain for him. M

I too am wondering why SMTOP860 is here whining on behalf of male newbies. He identifies self as bi, and a dominant; I say he should go take a newbie off the market so newbie doesn't have to be exposed to the pro problem.

I'd be happy to ! But as I'm sure many of you have discovered a good & compatable subbie can be hard to find. I am very selective in whom I play with or start a relationship with.

So, in partial answer to your own question, do you think the ones you seek frequent a pro's services, or do you think they are in demand enough not to see those services? And, enquiring minds want to know, are you going to answer the rest of BlkTallFullfig's question, as others have asked also? Why do you have this rant when you are bi and Dom??

Hello smtop860E.

I have a bad habit of making tongue in cheek remarks that are often misinterpreted, and boyyyy did I have to bite My cybertongue on this one.

I decided to address your actual comment, in all sincerity, instead.

I am not a pro, although I could easily be successful at it. I've considered it on occasion, just to sift the grain from the chaff in this online morass we call cyberspace.

I have participated at Pro Sites, however, where the sub has to pay the site for access to an online training program. The sub goes through a series of reading assignments and lessons to discover, learn about, and explore his submissive fantasies before ever coming into actual email contact with a 'Real Live Domme'. You can split hairs and argue over whether the subs 'pay tribute' or whether we were all $Money Dommes$, but since I never saw a dime of it, you'd be jumping to a false conclusion.

I was happy to know that the sub was serious enough about learning that he was willing to pay tribute, even if it was not to Me. It went a long way toward filtering away those male Doms and just plain nut cases who can't wait to get a Domme in their 'clutches' so that they can: abuse Her, 'convert' Her, pick Her brain for nifty kinky porn stories to sell, or whatever other more nefarious purpose they might have in mind. I found the submissives who completed the program to be sincere, humble, eager and well acquainted with a Dommes expectations as a result of that program.

Here's how I feel about Tribute, Money Dommes, and Professional Services Fees:

I am happy to pay a chiropractor for an adjustment to get some relief from pain if and when I need one.

I will pay an attorney to take care of My rights better than I can when there's an issue that requires his lifetime of legal expertise.

I'll pay big bucks for continuing education that offers Me training I need to improve My job skill set.

I'll pay a Physician to test Me however he deems necessary to see what medical support I need to maintain My health.

If I want to learn to Ski, for crying out loud, I won't go stand on a mountain and totter on waxed boards trying to muddle down the slope on My own, I'll take lessons from a pro!

Professional Services Fees are just that: Professional Services Fees. They are tribute, an honorarium, paid to someone who spends their lifetime learning about human need, suffering, frailty, entertainment, excitement, sport, healing, while avoiding certain pitfalls and risks.

If a sub finds a Domme with whom he's comfortable, whether or not they negotiate a Professional Service Fee for Her time and expertise is really not your concern.

Be happy that the timid or 'closet subs' unable to find 'free' Dommes have a site where they can locate a Professional to meet their needs. It's behind closed doors and neither you nor I are privy to their sessions.

bobbi boy, you sexy hunk of camslut you, if you're reading this take note: Tributes will Not be refused.

Oh, and E? ...two cents worth won't cut it.

Texas Maam, wonderful post!! I was going to post again, but, I think your reply about professionals says it all, and very well!!!!

GoddessDustyGold -> RE: Offensive Introductions (9/14/2005 10:56:27 PM)

I have been reading this with interest and I agree with what has been said thus far by the other Dominas.
This is what I am wondering, in addition to the obvious that has already been addressed.
smtop860, are you confusing the term "Pro" and "tribute" with the many money dommes that so many complain about?
I am a part time Professional. I do not consider a professional fee to be tribute. I consider to to be a fee for services rendered in the disciplinary realm. If I have an online trainee, I do not consider his tuition to be tribute. I do not know of any Pro Domme on this site or others (and I might have missed a few!) who advertsie Professional services up front and honestly, and then go out trolling for clients. The ad is there, the service is made available for any interested. If you are not interested, do not write.
If anyone has a *Domina* (I use the term loosly, here) contact them for tribute in exchange for email, or conversation or whatever, I do not consider those ladies to be Professional Dominas. If anyone writes to a DOmina, in good faith, and then gets the reply that it is "so much before any further correspondence, drop it. Take some personal responsibility.
Tribute is, or should be defined as a way to "honor" a Lady, either via a gift or money, with no expectation of anything in exchange. It is a tribute to Her. Just because...
I have heard this word bandied about so much, I now have a strong, personal dislike for it.
Please do not lump skillful Dominas who are willing to offer their time, on a Professional basis, with those who are just tyring to get a quick buck. It seems that the moment a Lady has an ad as a lifestyle Domina on any alternative site, it is immediately assumed that she is free and easy and available for "servicing", under the guise of " I want to serve you, Ma'am." When she refuses, she is then called a "fake", "wannabe", "evil money domme", and more I will not even get into.
I, for one, am tired of it. I am not a kink machine.

*edited* I am drawing a few conclusions here based upon your thread title of "Offensive Introductions". So you are either offended by Professionals who are honest about the availability of services for a fee, or you are offended by those profiles which state up front that tribute is expected (not a Pro). The only other introduction I know of would be an unsolicited email in your box requesting or demanding tribute. In that case, the delete button is your best friend.
Either way, why do you care? Just move on!

A most excellent post. I have immense respect for the*real* professional ladies that post here. Their posts are very knowledgeable and offer great insight.

As for the cons and money-spammers... Well, they're like the fruit flies that show up after the apples fall of the tree.

Hey, don't disrespect the fruit-fly. It was the first species on earth to have its genome sequenced.

Ok.... your right. I shouldn't pick on the fruit flies. How bout the Ant's that march into your kitchen after they smell sugar?
