I LOVED Schoolhouse rock !!!!

JerryFrankster -> RE: Schoolhouse Rock: Adjectives (2/15/2008 10:31:43 PM)

I was quite literally addicted to it, especially that one.

Conjunction Junction was pretty good too, but not in a sexual way.

Mad TV did some killer parodies of a few of them. Disfunction Junction is my fave.

I'm a huge fan. Saw a live production of Schoolhouse Rock a few years back plus we have all of them on DVD. And I actually watch it and sing along. Husband looks at me funny but he didn't grow up in this country so he missed out...

TysGalilah -> RE: Schoolhouse Rock: Adjectives (2/16/2008 6:07:13 AM)

adjective = confused

lockmeupplease -> RE: Schoolhouse Rock: Adjectives (2/16/2008 6:39:53 AM)

I bought a DVD that contains all 46 Schoolhouse Rock songs (math, grammar, history) a few years back.  I'm sure you can get it on Amazon.

LOL me too!
You know, when I turn on Saturday morning tv now it's a disappointment. Do they even have cartoons on anymore?

girly

JerryFrankster -> RE: Schoolhouse Rock: Adjectives (2/16/2008 1:31:56 PM)

Saturday morning cartoons were basically the invention of Hannah Barberra. They have their own channel now; Cartoon Network.

They still have Saturday morning cartoons, but not like it used to be. Most of the old cartoons are on Boomerang.

Can't recite the Preamble without singing it. . .

MsSaskia -> RE: Schoolhouse Rock: Adjectives (2/17/2008 1:09:41 AM)

"And then we unpacked our adjectives."  Love that song so much.  I have a Schoolhouse Rock CD that I put on when I play with an adult male who's into age play.  His inner child is a 4yo girl and we listen to Schoolhouse Rock while he colors in coloring books, makes candy necklaces or decorates cookies with me.  I've only got one CD with just a few songs on it.  Would love to have the whole set someday.  That and anything Electric Company-related.

A formative Electric Company song for me was Rita Moreno as "Pandora", a little girl character.  In one skit, "Pandora" had a nephew named "Alphonzo" , played by Luis Avalos (I think).  He was dressed up in a Little Boy Blue-type suit and was extremely timid and wouldn't play with Pandora, which annoys her.  She sings a song to relax and coax him, it works, and then she scares him even worse.  I was enchanted and thrilled at the idea that a girl could scare a boy that much.

I've been searching for a wav or other clip of that skit for years, and I just found it. Unfortunately, my sound card is out so I can't tell if it's exactly the way I remember, but from reading lips a little bit, it looks pretty close.
