A friend  and I were trying to come up with a name for perving someone after they have perved you. Our ideas so far -

Reperving, Reperviation. Pervialiating

pervrepetition? Pervpetition?

i like Perviolating myself, sounds fun

When someone Perviolates me i do it right back to them.  Sometimes someone from the board piques my interest, so i initiate the Perviolating.

Isn't the thread title an oxymoron?

I'm too curious not to perve back.  Most of the perves I get and give are results of the forums. Ron actually called me out for perving him one too many times, because I used to look at his profile every time he made me laugh.  That's a lot of clicks.

Most perves I get from people I annoy.

Yeah, my real life is like that as well.

Help! <looks anxious>

What am I missing here? You're talking about viewing profiles right? Profiles created for others to view (actually mine's also there in case I get so infirm of brain I forget who I am and what interests me).

I was msn chatting with an attractive, witty, charming and interesting young lady from here. (Actually as it turned out also utterly depraved and distinctly bratty - just the sort of person one hopes to meet here). I knew from her posts she was attractive 'cos I could see her pic; I knew she was witty from her posts; I found she was charming from her emails and conversation (and in due course these produced the disgusting depravity and brattiness, which has prompted me to tick the Favourites box); but I only knew she was interesting because I'd read her profile.

And I mentioned I'd noticed she hadn't viewed my profile (which I thought was a bit off - had she no interest in me?). Then she apparently started talking about perverts. And it was almost as if viewing my profile was a shameful intrusion! What's that all about?

And why on earth call viewing a profile perving?

I know I'm not experienced in collarchat but I'm not a stupid person (well I though I wasn't) and I just don't get it. So please, what am I missing?

It's not unique to CM.  It's a slang term based on the concept -- completely foolish, with no basis in fact, of course -- that when men view profiles, they often do so one-handed.

Sometimes I'll see that someone has perved me, and the little blurb that pops up when I run the mouse over the pic or name looks interesting, I'll reperviate (yes, that's the term I like). What amuses me is to come back in a few hours or a day, and there they are again. Have they forgotten they initiated the perve? Once - only once - has someone mesaged me because I reperviated. He wanted to know why I looked at his profile. I replied that he looked first - never heard from him again.

I have been perved by lesbian Dommes, bisexual subs, male subs, and people of all ages and in many states and countries. I just look at it as people seeing what's "out there" in CollarMe land.

When you see that someone has viewed your profile, do you have an overwhelming desire to see who they are?  Do you go immediately to see who they are and what they are like?  To figure out why they looked at you, or  whether they  might even be a “person of interest”?

No I don't. If I recognize the name from the boards I may go look. Or if I'm realllllllly board, I may perv the person back.... and even on occasion I'll send a quick "hello"

Do you at least immediately assume now it’s now "okay" to look at theirs?  Do you feel even partly “obligated” to reciprocally look at theirs? To send a note of some sort?

I don't feel obligated to perv someone that's perved me.

Or to preserve your cool,  do you  at all costs resist the urge to look at theirs?  And  instead try to satisfy your curiosity  based on the truncated half sentence that comes up when you roll over their name?

If I want to look I look

What if it’s obvious by those few words you read that it must have been something you wrote in a post, and nothing else? Does that make it easier to look ...or harder?

Don't care

If you see by those few words that they are clearly not of your orientation do you feel rude,  nosey or uncomfortable about reading their whole profile?

Does merely  posing these questions mark me as a closet humiliation slut just begging for public abuse?

(by the way, these questions were not provoked by anyone who may have looked at my profile within the last week. I've wondered about it for a while. And I will not look or even peek at your profile under any circumstances. Well, not at least for a week, until a sufficient period of time has gone by )

Are there photos?

And what would that be called? Self-reperviatonalism?

Sometimes it's "interesting" (or not) to see that you've been perved by someone near you
