MzMia -> Birds of a feather flock together? (2/17/2008 6:30:23 PM)

Has anyone hear been turned OFF by some of the "friends" some people have
on here?

I have a twist on the friends feature.

Sometimes it can help you get an idea of what sort of partner he is looking for.

If you approach me saying one thing, and I see you have "friends" on here that
appear to be looking skanky, sleazy, or tricked out.

Then you have just saved us both, some time!

My best advice in this instance, Mia, is to not take such a cognitive shortcut. It's fine to judge people based on their friends - it happens all the time, both in comparing people upward and downward socially; but if the need for structure in your life requires that you use subjective judgement rather than accurate assessment, you will most likely shortchange yourself in the long run.

Sorry, if the bitches look like or are straight up "ho's"?

NO

laurell3 -> RE: Birds of a feather flock together? (2/17/2008 6:45:58 PM)

Nah I have friends from all walks of life, quite literally.  Diversity isn't a bad thing in my opinion and I'm not really sure how you judge someone as "skanky" merely from the internet content alone.

Laurell, most of these "submissives", I am talking about do not frequent the message boards.
Laurell, I look at all the pictures on here, have you SEEN some of the pictures on here?

Often they have 2 or 3 pictures up, I ask them about them, and they usually don't know the
women.

If THAT is their taste in women, and they don't even know them?
Warning! Warning!
One guy I was starting to like, then he added a picture of some "sleazy/cheesy" woman and the

picture skurred me.

Well, Mia ... I'm at a loss. If you want to judge other people on their choice of friends by those friends' pictures, and if you aren't going to take the time to get to know these friends, you could be making serious judgemental errors by trusting these biases; but as your sig says, to each his / her own. So ... more power to ye.

I am sticking to my guns on this one.

I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered these feelings?
Again, I add...these are not people that frequent the message boards.

Leatherist -> RE: Birds of a feather flock together? (2/17/2008 7:14:35 PM)

Depends a lot on the profile content behind the pictures, and if they come across as flakes I guess.

laurell3 -> RE: Birds of a feather flock together? (2/17/2008 7:15:57 PM)

Unless it was a picture of someone beheading chickens or something honestly MzMia I don't think I would or could judge someone from pictures of their friends nor would I think "skanky" from a picture only.  Sorry, I'm not much help, we're just quite different in this regard.

MzMia -> RE: Birds of a feather flock together? (2/17/2008 7:17:27 PM)

Of course we are all different, and I like that fact.
This lady also looked mean!
I was frightened!

GreedyTop -> RE: Birds of a feather flock together? (2/17/2008 7:18:06 PM)

I've had people who have judged me by my tattoos, piercings etc. They havent bothered to  get to know whats behind the external.
I consider it separating the wheat from the chaff. Those who choose to judge me by my external appearance, generally are people that won't fit into my life anyway.

just sayin'....

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Birds of a feather flock together? (2/17/2008 7:19:24 PM)

No. I don't judge someones worthyness or not based on pictures of people in their friends lists. I like to think I am deeper and less shallow than that.

Now, If I met someone in real life, and his friends were all stoners or druggies, or criminals. THEN I'd judge his charachter based on who he hung out with.

OMG!
Guilty by association?

You need to post your own picture so I know if I want to continue to converse here with you.

MzMia -> RE: Birds of a feather flock together? (2/17/2008 7:27:41 PM)

^ High Five, I knew I was not the only one that felt that way.

Many won't admit it, though.

If a 54 year old man approaches me and is trying to act like Mr. Classy, and
he has some pole dancing 22 year old chick as his "friend",
I am the hell out of there.

You eat chicken with the head on? Please don't put pictures of it in your profile.

You never see Alice Cooper and Laurel3 at the same party.

A coincidence?  I think not.

I hope your not refering to me....
Some of my best friends dance with poles.
But I am only 49.
Quite honestly this thread really offends me.

MissMagnolia -> RE: Birds of a feather flock together? (2/17/2008 7:33:36 PM)

Oh, whats wrong with a lil skankiness? You have to remember, most people here don't use the family Christmas photo's they took when they were three sheets to the wind, dressed in green and red and hyped up on pudding and custard.

They use the pics they took just before, during or after play and good luck to them. I've I wasn't the whale that I am, I might be flashing a bit more flesh!![:D]

I love everyone on my friends list, think they are all gorgeous and I couldn't give a rats if they aren't covered up.

This isn't really the place to start bagging out those who are confident enough to show us what they got.

GO THE SKANKS!!!!!

MzMia -> RE: Birds of a feather flock together? (2/17/2008 7:35:42 PM)

I love this place!

We are the world!
