The really interesting part of the article was about how the Anti War movement has been taken over by the Democratic machine over the past 2 years.  And is now focused on electing Democrats.  Is it true?  Tabbini says so, and he is considered an expert to much of the "youth left".  He gives names and places.

Some people just want to stop discussions like these.  It's a sign of tolerance, ya know....

Yeah, that's not true. Most anti-war people are pretty pissed off at both the GOP and the Dems, but also in that order. This is the GOP's war-party we are all enjoying, so let's keep things tidy.

That's like saying that Lester Bangs was an expert on youth culture instead of his being an expert on the things he found interesting. Influence or mirror?

Also not true.

Wikipedia sez she got out in March, and ends her parole in September 2008.

Bangs, though he was before my time was a music critic, and yeah he was very influential.  Taibiini is the Political editor of Rolling Stone.  He has been cited on these boards many times as an influential pundit, and expert.  So I think he has some influence, or is he now a Neo Con sell out?

The political editor of a music magazine?  Well, first of all, what are his qualifications?

He hates Bush, and uses the word "fuck" in his articles.

Right up until he stopped passing out the kool-aid.  Now he's a vile neo-con monster with Rove spooge in his hair.

2. You are seriously more disgusted by those engaged in political maneuvering than those that have cost us thousands of lives, continued to put many more at risk, relentlessly screwed the taxpayer, and brought the whole country to the brink of economic ruin?

Nope.  It's the reliable and consistent placement of hatred as the highest value in the party that claims values matter.  I happen to be of the opinion that those zero class "political maneuverings" played just as much of a role in bringing us to where we are.

Did you happen to catch the recent reports from his interrogator that Saddam Hussein never believed we would actually invade?  I might have to dig up an old WyrdRich thread that speculated on that very thing.

Funny thing.  Assuming economic realities haven't forced me to into a position where I'm not able to amuse myself in conversation here, a year from now I'll probably be accused of being a Hillary loving commie because I insist on speaking respectfully of her in the office.

Ahh so Dems are supposed to have loftier ideals... turn the other cheek.. all of that BS.

while the Reps can sling mud and be as big of war mongering bastards.. and the rest of us just take our lumps.. I see...

Then Dems are supposed to be calls tax and spend, and weak on war.. and un capable of dealing with "being tough"

Personaly I am sick of the dems acting like pussies. About time someone stands up and says "ya know.. enough. That's it.. no more. No more fucking us over, no more slandering.. no more muddling things up.. and then expecting us to clean it up.. and then when we have the audactiy to complain.. don't even think to say we shouldnt have the right to bitch."

The whole idea of yeah they fucked everything up.. and thousands of people are dead.. and our economy is in the shitter.. but the other party is bitching about it so they are worse just doesnt sit well with me. LOL

Of course we are bitching.. we again have to come in and clean up a cluster fuck.

Gwyn

Personally, I think Bush should be executed as a traitor. Maybe that would dicourage other presidents from conning us into an unjustifiable war.

...and no, I don't think he should be exempt from the death penalty just because he's retarded.

No, don't execute him. Waterboard him, and Darth "Deadeye Dick" Cheney, and the rest of the Neococksuckers. After all, waterboarding isn't torture, is it?
