I love books.  I love the feel of holding one in my hand, and turning the pages. The written word appeals to me in so many ways...

I just finished reading "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett.  What an awesome book! Not being an architect, or an expert on the time period, I have to assume that he did at least some research into both subjects.
Not only did the story appeal to me, but I was impressed by how he was able to impart info about the processes involved in the building of the cathedral in a way that made it interesting to me.  And (again, I'm no expert..in fact my knowledge of the era is quite limited) the politics and depiction of daily life had an authentic feel to it.

I cant wait to get my hands on the sequel!

What have you read lately?

Right now I'm reading "A Brief History of Druids" by Peter Elliot, so I'm hip deep in research. Originally it was for one project (which I completed the draft of last night) but the research has sparked a second project which I start in March.

A little of both. I'm an author. I started reading that for research for a time travel novel set in 62 AD, and now I have another novel going 'pick me, pick me' which will be set in Gaul 58 BC.

The one I completed the draft of is already under consideration with a publisher I've worked with before, the editor has the first 4 chapters in her tbr file at her request. If she decides she doesn't want it I know two other publishers are curious about it, so either way it will end up with a good home.

The new one - I don't know if it's going to be a novella or a novel length, I've got the feeling it will be novel length with the research that I've still got to do on this (ordered a copy of Celtic Women by the same author).

And thank you about the sig line, the one I use for work is "I am a spinner of dreams, come enter my web"

When I saw the forum topic I was going to respond with "Pillars of the Earth" lol.  I am a fan of Follett but unless you are a spy novel fan you might not enjoy some of his other titles as much.  If you want to read a tongue-in-cheek humorous version of Pillars I recommend "Sir Apropos of Nothing", it's really funny.  Of course "Good Omens" is a must.  If you are looking for thought provoking then Barbara Kingsolver (Poisonwood Bible) or Margaret Atwood (Oryx and Crake).  If you are a computer or history nerd then I recommend "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson.  In the mystery category I have been enjoying Greg Iles.

Ok I think that's the end of the recent list.  Hope some of those are appealing.

I'm reading Stone Cold by David Baldacci. It's the third book in the Camel Club series, and unputdownable. Very interesting, unconventional characters.

this one is an erotic romance novel (the one I just finished) but if you're still interested contact me via PM and I'll let you know where I hope it will be published (e-press/small press) I'm hoping the same company that published my first plus sized older fem dom novel will take it.

So if you like a little sex with your fiction...

The new project might be sensual historical romance, or erotic historical romance, it depends what the characters demand from me. If I can keep it sensual I might be able to pitch it to one of the larger presses in April at a convention I'm attending.
