well-many thanks guys-some really interesting ones too. I hear the comments about stereotyping etc and tend to agree. However I di find that some rough guide lines can be useful with an inexperienced sub-just to show a range of possibilites and variations.But veryone finds their own level sooner or later which can obviously be a mix or combination for them as individuals. Stella I particularly like your different flavours !!!

i dunno why you need a vague idea of the differant types, i remember one guy would constantly bang on about types of submissives and use it as an insult, and thats what i think it is, If we feel submissive then that for us is true submission. The obsession with validity of feelings is pathetic and just a way to feel superior to others and make some feel crap, all submissives at some point or another from my knowledge have been told they are "not a true submissive" simply becuase they werent interested in the guy normally. Submission means something differant to differant people so labelling it is a wasted venture, in my opinion.

That is exactly the conclusion I have reached. In the eye of certain men I am not "really" a submissive because I won't submit to them.

I'm a full time live in submissive who feels submissive in response to his dominance, who requires a deeply loving relationship in order to have sufficient trust to submit. Note I can feel submissive without acting on it. However I have sufficiently healthy boundaries to know that having sufficient pleasure of my own is needed to feel fulfilled and not used in a bad way/taken for granted. Plus I have no interest in pain, humiliation, service, obedience or suspense; I'm wired for emotional transparency. And I feel that fulfilling my other obligations is equally important.

I have no respect for people who take the money and deliberately do a half assed job, and even less for people who are biologcally parents and who don't take that job on with utmost seriousness.

So I don't fit into any of the boxes.

I think that would be the worst type of tripe to introduce to a new submissive. Why not show her a list of categories for lovers or spouses or friends to show her the range of possibilities and variations? Easy answer: Because categorizing is never conducive to seeing the full range of possibilities. She will see that for her own sweet self, if she doesn't get trapped in limits first.
