in public i reffer to my Lord and Mistress by their fist names as also with when company is over as well.

once we are home,yes sometimes we all do call eachother still by first names but primarily we use my Lord and my Mistress.

When my new Master calls me I answer, "Hello, Sir." If my roommate (totally vanilla) hears it, she just assumes it's a joke. In fact, I think she asumes the whole thing about being subservient to some man is just something I play at. She thinks my in-charge, confident personality extends to every aspect of my life.

I don't say or do anything to change her mind.

Angel has endured much teasing for caling me Mommy on the phone a time or two infrot of his friends. Not intentionaly, mind you, and they always took it as a joke, but thats what he has done. He manages to stay away from goddess on the phone unless we are mid-scene. Most of the time its either my given name, Maam, or a handful of silly petnames he thinks of (He called me Squirtle the other night... *shrug*)

Fox calls me by my given name, pretty much all the time. The occasional Maam or Mommy slips in on occasion which is fine. He also refers to me as the best boyfriend ever, which we both find funny,and on here and in emails I am his Owner. Being southern, though, both boys have a lot less problem getting away with Maam in public. Fox has even done it in front of his sisters (thats a whole nother story, they have asked what the Maid of Honor's girlfriend does at a wedding when he told them about the one we are going to...)

When Kitten and I used to play, his code-word of sorts was sweetie. He NEVER used it, unless he was in a mood and being entirely too shy to ask me if he could come over. Any other time, conversation would be devoid of pet names and stuff on his side, but when he wasnted playtime he answered the phone (or replied to my hello) with Hey, sweetie, hows your day.

I've been known to go "aye, aye, captain". It's sufficiently ironical that no one else pays attention but he knows I'm paying attention.

Back in the vanilla days, I was "sweetie". But now she uses "Darling" to refer to me in my submissive role. This is nice for she can ask me to do something in front of friends or UMs, e.g. "Darling, please get me some tea", and I know it is a request for service. It is nice to have a private way to power exchange regardless of who is around.

Watching HBO's "Rome" the other day, a servant came into the room and addressed the lady of the house as "Domina". That just clicked with us. We both felt using 'Mistress' was not special to us and had been looking for something new. So keep your ears open and something will come. But sounds like you know that.

Oh, and in vanilla settings, I might refer to her as "my Beautiful", again like me being "Darling". Something we understand but noone else.

My Girl and I don't have any titles set in stone yet. However, she enjoys calling me "Mister" a lot. I've noticed every time she enters the room I am in, after being gone for a prolong period of time she uses this. Also other times as well.

HoneyMaster was irritated at me one day for not calling Him 'Master', so He had a good long rant about it on a drive to the DomDepot one day.
While we were walking around, He asked me (in front of a bunch of customers and workers) if I liked something. I kept my eyes to the floor and said 'Yes, Master...' as loudly as I could. (I had a collar on as well)
Boy was that fun!!

Daddy is Daddy. he's also Sir, Master, Beloved, Evil/Sadistic Bastard, and Pookie. that last one is best said when i have a clear path to the nearest exit.

when referring to him in speaking to others, its his given name or Sir most of the time unless the other person knows me/of him well enough for me to use more intimate titles.

I 99% of the timre call my Master, Master. As per his orders whan we are out ant others can hear it i have to call him by his given name. We were in CVS once and i stopped to look at something ,and he went on ahead i turned around and did not know where he went. I called out Matt? (that felt really strange) and i found him. Master always calls me sweetheart.

when i don't call Him Master i'll Him babe...like i'll go to the kitchen and call "hey babe you want a coke?" He calls me His kitten, rose, baby, darling nothing really set in stone. we don't call each other by our names very often.

How about attaching some significance to his actual initials, and calling him by that, or use some initials that stand for something that you two know the meaning of and you can use without raising too many eyebrows? My Master, Exsteelagain is dM. This is how we've come to use it:
Master and I often drop each other little notes at work..and since we work in jobs where the e-mail isn't considered private we often sign with little nicknames that are simply initials. He is mydM, (my dear Master) and mine is css(collared sweet slave) (yes, we can be corny!..but I certainly smile when I see it). We know what it means..but to anyone else, it's just letters at the end of a rather innocuous note.
