It does not appeal to me. I don't feel the need to "join a club" to prove who I am.

I know who you are!!...:)

Perhaps I should have worded it something like........."for my own personal validation"? OR better yet, "I am a nasty tempered unsociable bitch!"?

The Detroit scene is a mess of politics, cliques, and complainers, held up by a core group of folks who organize events, show up to parties, share knowledge, etc.  I guess I am one of those---the event organizer kind.  I never go to munches, since I can't stand smoke, and hey!  bored now! but I show up at the nonsmoking fetish parties to socialize, and kick ass if one of my party boys or girls is there.  There are charity things that I am involved with peripherally.  I do not "love it" as the poll would indicate....at best I am ambivalent these days.  I am not a people person, I stand by my credo of FUCK THE NEWBIES, and while I love to play and dress up, I don't need a party to do either thing.

Oh, the fuck the newbies thing?  Back in the day, the organizers of a newbie gateway group approached me and some of my friends and said that we really should tone down our party play, since we were scaring some of the newbs..... to which I responded " * ".   Cranky?  Hell yeah!  One of the first things I was told was if you don't like what you are watching, politely turn away.

Hm....  cranky, antisocial, opinionated....  do I sense a trend?

It looks like rain so he let me in lol

She was wet enough already....a little rain wasn't gonna make any difference.

I am not involved because I am a jock that is a poser.....and divi is my cheerleader.

No, it's too "high school" for me to bother with.

I prefer the quiet company of adult personalities.

There wasn't an option for my answer[:D]....No I haven't...BUT yes I'm interested in exploring it.

Aww, LaT...  maybe it's just the whole snow thing that's making you cranky?  [;)]

Didn't vote only because I wasn't sure how I would qualify my activity.  I have not attended any functions, but I do keep up on the local news and occasionally stir the pot with carefully placed commentary...not in a mean way.  My local community is too full of people who pat each other's backs; I kick in with a different view once in a while to break the monotony.
