I think the solution <wink>is to become a financial domme .. bypass pay pal and immediately demand a cabin in the woods lol ... it sounds a feasible for me as the other (after all Im not a 20 year old barbie doll)   and NO I AM NOT JUDGEING FINANCIAL DOMINANTS ..  I just cant imagine myself doing that with a straight face lol ... so if i ever can am gonna go for the gusto all at once <EG>

As for being mistaken for Waco .. I dont think that is a danger ...... there are lots of ways to avoid looking like or becoming  like that nest of wackos  and who was talking about denying civil liberties ...??  we are talking fantasy ... wishful thinking .... unless someone has a magic wand they havent told me about yet

Worlds Largest Pride Parade is actually Sao Paulo, Brazil which hosted over 3 million in June of last year.

Hey thanks Leatherist. That looks really cool. The thing that I dont like about it is you would need to keep your taps turned on all the time. I guess there would be a way to get it secure enough that it wouldnt waste water, I dunno, that part of it doesnt feel right. I love that thing tho, I want one. 84 well-spent bucks. I would love to watch it in action, maybe try and get digital video footage of the cats being blasted by the Scarecrow or whatever they call it. Man that would be so funny. Last summer I let them keep one corner of one of the flower beds, I didnt plant in there, they were already using that spot a lot, and in the snow I can see they track their way to that same spot. Maybe if I give it up to them they will only go there and leave me space to grow things.

Master and I are hoping that when he retires (hoping retirement fund grows cause we don't trust anything else to be there) we will be able to retire to a good sized piece of property. Love to do it now but Master needs to be able to get to work aand the land around here is almost as dear as oil, we could maybe afford a square foot or two. I spent some time at my Grandparents farm and did my share of herding, milking and innoculations, not to mention arguing with the rooster over the hen house (he lost). It would be nice to be able to let the dogs out without having to watch for kids with rocks. One day I know I am gonna be tempted to let the dogs talk to those kids...sigh, can't, not fair to the dogs.

It sure is. It's where I am from, and I love it. I had an apartment that was walking distance to my classes. The Art Institute, the old Public Library and the Historical Museum were about 10 minutes from my place...on foot. As a kid I saw the MC5 almost every weekend (seemed like it, anyway) and watched the Stooges learn to play...not for the squeamish...heard jazz, saw Marcel Marceau, Hal Holbrook, went to the symphony, plays, all that stuff. Baker's Keyboard Lounge...saw Yusef Lateef and Elvin Jones...good Greek food...yep...

Sometimes I miss all that stuff, and I do mean all of it. But I love my life here in the canyon with my cats. It rocks!! But in a different way. Bumpkin that I am, I clean up pretty well, and I do love to go out.

So I definitely understand why someone would not want to change modes from city to country. It's all just different strokes for different folks (and so on and so on and shoobie doobie doobie).

I'm two hours from Manhattan and live up a mountain, backing onto various wildlife preserves, state parks etc. I could do without my newest neighbor though. Discovering I've got a bear in back of me again is no fun. He could move over the mountain any time. Mountain lion are quiet, discreet neighbors, foxes are fun to watch, coyote are nice to listen to late at night. I don't much mind the deer bedding down under the porch, right where the dryer vents to the outside. But bear rip apart garbage cans and strew trash everywhere. Definitely ruin the property value [:D]

Before I moved off the mtn .. I was driving down a road ond summer day and looked into a yard ..and under the trampoline in the yard were 2 deer takeing a siesta .. that is city meeting the wilds for sure lol ....and of course with no camera around .. if not for the people in the car with me .. no one would have believed it
