Awesome, I am thrilled, this is so cool, so we won't be seeing judgements come through to people who do not have a SO---how cool is that!

But Justme, if someone spends a reasonable amount of time reading on the boards here, you find out which regular posters post responsible, educated, thoughtful answers like CD. Someone who takes the time to think about what he's saying and keep it pertinent to to the OP's question or comment. It might not be what the OP wants to hear, and it might not be what another poster agrees with or believes, but he's not coming in shooting from both hips, letting it rip without thinking. That's why a lot of people believe CD and others, they've taken the time to build up the trust and credibility here on the boards. In real life? Yes, some of us do know him and would trust him absolutely as well with our lives and bodies. But again, that's a trust he's built up and earned with us. I wouldn't expect you to have that same trust because you don't know him, not that I know of anyway.

And it sounds like you take the time to think out your answers too. A good thing. Some thing not always done. LOL....

LOL... Yep, you're right, no props to you, BadOne, because I don't know you. Don't know you and don't trust you. You're a picture on a screen and that's it. Maybe a voice in my head on a bad night. Oh wait, thats something else.  I don't have to get real for you because I already am real for those who know me. And it ain't you.

Good afthernoon.

Oh it was just een example. I don't know him...but it was a great post. Well thought.
I was just looking at "credebility" from different angels. I never thought so much about the subject. Untill this post.
And his example made me think.

I try to think before I post..lol...thank you for the nice compliment. (Not sure if I always succeed ;) )

There is no way you can judge anyones credibility by what they post on these boards. To do so is to assume. We all know what assume means.

that is a very good example of assuming every one knows, thank you ;)

but seriously..yes agree. But in person you cant judge peopel on their stories either. To be sure..you have to see things happen. But then their is trust..that has influence on credibility. And propably there are many more things. A good talker is often accepted as credible (politicians??  lol)

Credibility...am I a credible source for health knowledge? Sure, but there are areas in which I am more credible than others. I've been a chiropractic doctor for 25 years, with additional certification in orthopedics so I'm pretty damn credible if you ask me about traumatic joint injuries or chronic joint problems and I am fairly credible with most health questions. But I would not rely on me for answers about brain surgery.

as example I want to add that even though I believe you...we can't even be sure about your credibility of beeing good in orthopedics..unless we really know you.
So for me the credibility in the orthopedics issue is as big as the brainsurgery....

(just an example how credibility works...not a personal issue of anykind...)

I don't take it personally....  My best answer to that would be "well, you'll never know until you give me a try yourself or speak to someone who's had a condition similar to yours that I've helped."  And of course, the license and the certification themselves do lend some degree of credibility.  But, broadening it out to include other aspects of what was being discussed...as I said and as others have said, look to the person:  do their words make sense?  Is what they say and/or do similar to what others you respect already say/do?

Of course licenses are a great proof . Sometiems the only credible thing (unless bought on the internet lol)
Agree...study the person....think carefully.....

Do you people think credebility is closely related to trust? or...influenced?

Definitely I think credibility is related to trust...and that can be a dangerous thing.  Let's face it, many con men are as successful as they are because they are good at getting others to trust them.

Con PEOPLE are mysterious and they can blend in easily into various kinds of groups like BDSMers. They can be hard to resist and by the time you figure them out, the pain has happened. They can be attractive enough that you will over look their squirrel like activities.

A great flogger can get away with much and that’s why I try so hard to be a great flogger, but I still strive to be a nice guy who doesn’t present a bad guy fake persona. Nice may not give me the initial mysterious persona, but it usually works best in the long run. Somehow, if I’m my nice self, I don’t have to worry about looking for submissives, it just works out magically that the nice people find me.
