Oh god...Boondock saints...*drools*.  My accents come out when I am drunk or pissed...if I'm both, lookout.  Sometimes you can tell I'm from Ky, others my Irish side comes out.

Faith and begorrah, ya'll??

Accents say a lot - I only wish I could write with my unique blend of britannico français. Though most people here think it's pure british...

Sean Connery is creepy...he would get kicked in the nuts.  And there is a difference...Irish sounds more like they are always asking a question, and it is softer.  Scottish is a bit more throaty, harsher and harder to understand than Irish when drunk, lol.

I was looking through the "whos viewd me" on my front page, and I saw that an Irish male sub had peeked at me.  Now, I am not looking for a male, but the thought passed through my mind that I wouldn't mind talking to someone of that persuasion just for the accent.  So, I got to thinking...does anyone else have a fetish for accents?  Which ones really do it for you?  I'm a sucker for Irish, Scottish, Australian and English...in that exact order.

Then i am terribly sorry i would be fourth rate.....
(i did get seriously solicited by a dominant on collarme from the Rockies whose main fetish seemed his need for an English accent......i digress.....)
there's a line in A Fish Called Wander where she says 'speak Italian for me'....isn't there?

I find American (East Coast...New York, nasal), Canadian (yes i can tell the difference) and i totally agree the Irish  (certain parts) totally beguiling. I love Scots too because i had a lover who is still Scots (but no longer a lover). Greek is good, Polish is fine, Russian is ~domiant~ i feel by nature and yes maybe i have screwed my way round Europe but it's a good way to travel.....

We Brits have an absolutely CRITICAL awareness of accent by which we really mean social class accent and this is determined by the sounding out of vowel sounds predominantly.....we live in a My fair Lady kind of reality and it is the most insidious and obnoxious form of stereotyping....to me it is worse than ageism, racism and other isms......when i was eleven and went to Grammar School (clever cow) i remember that i consciously made the decision to change my accent as one, no-one could understand me and two, i wanted to conform and sound posh like everyone else....my mother asked who-the-hell-do-you-think-you-are for about fifteen years after that until she got used to it......i should learn signing as this would be useful when gagged but then again hopeless with my hands tied behind my back.....

However, Master has a cockney accent, which means that when i first heard Him on the phone, despite my attempts not to, all i heard was a dirty old man.....actually he's a dirty young man so it all turned out rather spiffingly.........

While I don't have an accent fetish, I have been told that my Canadian accent is erotic on one or two occasions.

I still don't hear my accent.

*sad*

What part of Canada were you raised in?
(you do TOO have an accent..*grin*)

I was raised a bit here and there; born in Ontario, moved out to Saskatchewan, then Alberta.  Dallied briefly in British Columbia, and came back to where I am now...Ontario.

Level - I do not say ya'll...I have never said ya'll.  I make it a point not to.  *shudders* but what you said was pretty funny.

And yes, I think he is creepy.

"A Fish Called Wanda", and Jamie Curtis is asking John Cleese to speak in Russian (I think).

Anytime anyone mentions Cockney to me, I think of the Pearly King and Queen and Eliza Dolittle... and her Dad:
"I'm getting married in the morning....
Ding-dong the bells are gonna chime"

ooh.. TO is one of my favorite places.. ok, so is Vancouver,.,,but VBC is far too Americanized, IMO... TO is NOT so much (even if there is a heavy US influence there).

I have to admit to saying the dreaded "y" word; it fits in with my thick Texan accent

Just curious...  Do american accents do the same thing for Britsh women as British accents do for American women?

Being British born and raised, I have to say not for me. I tend to like those with a Scottish, or romance-language accent (for those who don't know what that means, it's French, Italian, Spanish and the like - strong latin/Roman origins).

Welsh is good too...
And no, not a Connery fan. Gerard Butler on the other hand.......
