instead of wearing the handcuff pin on the collar of your shirt use it as a zipper pull on your jeans or leather pants ?
The whole fashion thing can be taken many ways , like the Whole Von Dutch craze a few years ago .I would walk up to people wearing Von Dutch items and ask who is Von Dutch knowing all well who he was "i worked and hung around his shop many years ago " and few knew or made up a story like ooh he makes clothing .Sometimes i would say ooh you know Kenneth Howard ?i would always get a blank stare .
When i wear my Demask shirt or DV8 hat for example i get the random comment but the people that know .. well know .
If your using a devining rod i would think your looking for water or ghosts ,if your using a couple riding crops as your devining rods some may think your looking for a wayward horse .Covert public flagging rarely works but hey keep pluggin away you may strike gold or leather or subbie .

Try conventions like scifi ones. and renfaires. you may not meet your next sub, at one, but maybe you will someone who might have a friend who might be interested. In other words, go out there, connect, talk to people, get to know them.

I have something that seems to work. It requires an actual date however. On the first or sencond kiss, I take her hair firmly in my hand not a yank but a frim grip. That seems to lead to 3 responses.

Spot on. And while I so agree with MidMichCowboy that it's worth putting in time and effort to get to know people, life is a pain when you have limited time available. So anything that helps speed up the search - like CM - is good; it's a shame that trying to follow the fast lane (because you cannot give the time for the scenic route) can sometimes be misinterpreted as being shallow or needy, trying to go too far too fast.

Just ask random women "Do you like to be spanked?" They will either slap you and walk away, roll their eyes and walk away, or say "sure".

Only embarassing when the 95-year old great grandmother in the next aisle responds over the display with "If she doesn't, I like to...". *smirk*

(I used to go up to my honey in stores when we went shopping together as a way to say hi and had the above happen)

I think the majority of submissive women don't know it, and likely never will.

If you want to meet a submissive women, put yourself in a position to meet women. Date them, and try to determine early on if you're compatible, personality wise. My first slave was 'vanilla' when we met. The first time she kissed me, I growled in her ear "kiss me!" I slapped her in the face the first time we had sex. It was clear from the way she behaved and responded to me, that she was submissive, and would enjoy learning about D/s.

I would strongly caution the reader to be careful that the woman is actually interested in these sorts of things, and not simply trying to push your own desires onto her. It's a very fine line.

When I am out and about alone (which is most of the time) there is no way in hell that I am going to give off any hint that I am submissive. Nor would I respond to a stranger wearing bdsm symbols.

Greetings and Namaste....
I find this topic of discussion intriguing for the fact that I believe I have discovered a submissive in the vanilla world LOL and My place of employment was the setting, a restaurant, of all places.

I have been dealing with a rather beautiful and intriguing woman. Usually she will greet Me with a smile and meet My gaze. Of late though, as My energy continues to grow, she has taken to coming to Me for her needs and tastes. (grins wickedly for this can be a very interesting and enlightening experience to say the least) I am a Ppeople observer to begin with so I spend time watching people and how they interact and respond as well as act and react. Lately, she has been approaching Me with a direct gaze but will drop her gaze in a very submissive manner that caught My attention when it first started happening.

Day before yesterday, she came in again. She was behind one person at the counter and I felt her energy as she stood behind the gentleman who towered over her. When I looked up, My eyes met her gaze and she smiled warmly before dropping her gaze once again. The new manager trainee had come up to assist as there was a line starting. He called the next person in line and she went to his domain. As she passed by, she turned her head to look at Me with this innocent yet deliberate look in her eyes before she lowered her gaze yet again with a rather impish grin.

I had been busy and had taken care of a few customers before I felt this energy and sense that I was being watched. It had to have been at least 15 minutes gone by before I felt that energetic surge that felt almost like a slap. I looked up at the entrance doors and saw her standing there, leaning against the wall with her back, sipping her large diet take out beverage, gazing directly at Me. I held her gaze for a long moment as she returned the search and it felt as if a silent knowing of sorts washed over Me like a warm fuzzy blanket on a cool night. I winked at her as Wwe gazed into Eeach Oother's eyes and the most beautiful ear to ear grin graced her face and her aura lit up like a halogen bulb. I chuckled with amusement as she held My gaze a second longer before she dropped it again. Moments later, she looked up with a knowing smile and a lighter step and nodded before she turned to walk out the door.

Now Wwe have talked the usual small talk, but when you see someone on a daily basis, sometimes conversation can turn personal. For now, I do not know if she is in the lifestyle. she appears to have a straight energy about her and although this may be nothing at all, I sense that she is very submissive for not many know the sensuality in such a manner of casting the eyes down in the presence of a Dominant.

I find it odd because in such types of environments, I wear uniforms that would in no way give away who and what I am... I have had Oothers tell Me that it is My strength, confidence and energy that draws submissives to Me of both genders. I have taken a hiatus from My long journey seeking My one...and the submissives are coming out in droves for she is not the only one who seems to be responding to Me in such a surrendering manner.

I look forward to work tomorrow for I am going to test a theory I have since I have been interacting with this woman for a little while and have come to realize a few things about society as well as Myself.

Of late, on the journey that I have been on, it seems that the lifestyle has been melding with the vanilla world in the aspect of the individuals revealing themselves, no matter what their interest or experience. Hell, I've even had a BOSS pull Me into his office and ask Me to be his Mistress and I never said a single thing about who and what I am lol...

As long as you're willing to train a new sub to your standards, finding an experienced sub might not be necessary. Bondage and spanking is actually a very common fantasy for many vanillas. The next time you're in a private place with a woman you're dating and she pokes or tries to tickle you, give her a light smack on the butt and call her a bad girl. Progress from there.

Finding submissive women (or in my case, partners of either gender) at science fiction conventions can be a process frought with their own special problems. I used to prowl the cons in my area throughout the 80's. Odd how it seems you either run into total prudes, or total sluts there... and the sluts usually had boy/girl friends. Even if you did find an amiable partner, then you had to deal with washing all that green body paint off of them....

What I find most interesting about the original post is the implication that submissive women are to be found in the sci-fi and/or occult sections of bookstores. What if you want a submissive who ISN'T into "magick"?

that's funny because i own a pair of handcuff earrings and i got them from there. Also hot topic sells handcuff belts which is full of lil kiddies now and in reference to finding at a bookstore i am usually near the fiction/music (books) area at Borders lol.

But i agree with all the posters, it's a fad now i see so many people with handcuffs as fashion wear and other things like that. The lapel would cause a raised eyebrow but not enough for a question unless you asked certain questions, and if i didn't know you i would be confused and ask why you were asking me them.

I sat at a large-chain bookstore once drinking coffee & reading Gloria Brame's Different Loving. A well dressed, attractive woman walked by me a couple of times & made eye contact. At last she walked up to me & said "Excuse me, can I ask you something?" Before I could say "There Is a GOD!" she asked , "Didn't you used to be at the shows at the Horse Park?" Probably a better chance of being struck by lightning while winning the lottery then finding a lifestyler at random.
