Well I've been kind of curious about chains as of late...Went today to buy some longer rope at like home depot and noticed they also sale chains. ( as u can tell I dont shop at places like home depot very often lol im definetly not "Mr. Fix it" lol)

Anyways my gf thinks chains would hurt, not that I really want to use them as a replacement for rope. They just sparked my curiosity I guess. So what this is really about is I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with chains that they would like to share...well not too specific please lol...Just mainly wondering would they pinch the skin? pull too tightly? can they be used in conjunction with ropes? etc

Chains or rope can be made to hurt a little or a lot or not at all.

But forget the fucking big box stores. Take her to an old-fashioned small-town hardware for the shopping experience, preferably one where they know your name.

Twist chain is best, but large link.

I can also use these to fasten it, then close it with a wrench.

Sometimes you need to file out the threaded end a bit, to fit over thicker links. You cannot open these with fingers, if you wrench tighten them. I would advise some caution on tension and what you do with it, this shit can tear you up.

This, and leather locking heavy duty bondage gear is my favorite. You get out when I want you to get out. Not by playing "houdini".

Bondage depot chains can be fun.
There is something about the way chains clank when they are used to retsrain someone that can have magnificant affects on the other party (hows that for being nuanced).
Plus they have that extra heft, yumminess galore.Take some chain, then get some good calipers, use them with ringed wrist and ankle restraints instead of rope, its awesome fun.

hah thanks for all the suggestions, def something worth trying... not really into "cuffs" though as the name suggests >.>

but ya I wasnt planning on doing anything with "rusty" chains... I prefer my gf alive thank you and in good health lol

Well i'd been looking for this reciepe for a while and finally found it again and is something i REALLY want to try:

The Chain Trick…. A delicious dessert for two.

Ingredients: A length of chrome plated ¼" proof coil chain.
Rubbing alcohol.
Dish soap.
`Personal' Lube
Willing and sexually adventurous woman of legal age.

SERVES TWO (Or more if you play well with others.)

Prepare length of chain: Cautions: Chrome plated chain. Not galvanized. New; not old. Run your fingers over each link and look for welds that are not smooth. Reject any length with flaws. Rinse off the residue of the manufacturers oil with dish soap. Sterilize with alcohol but rinse it off before it comes into contact with her delicate membranes. Wash off the alcohol in warm water. You want it clean and sterile. It doesn't hurt to have it slightly warm too. Wrap it in a towel… you'll need the towel later. Set the wrapped chain aside.

Prepare Willing Wench of legal age. Note: Personal tastes and techniques vary. Do what works best for you. Wench should be happy and secure. Wench should be excited and feeling playful. mmmmmmm chains! I adore chains--I never use rope, My nails are too long--chains, love the sound of the click when locks aree closed, love the sound of the clink clink--

You can keep chains in the freezer or in hot water--heh heh--I have a length of chain on each leg of My special bed---just in case.

First off... Rusty Chains are a lawsuit waiting to happen. There is no way to mitigate the risk of rust on bare skin. Especially shit straight out of a junkyard that may have industrial oils and other toxins on it. No. Stop posting 'advice' please.

If you are looking to avoid pinching with the chain, but still want to secure your sub with something that feels like they cannot escape, here is what has worked for me... I use a French Bowline** with 4-5 non-constricting loops to form a wrist cuff, ankle cuff, or double-limb bind. Tie that cuff to a length of chain, secure accordingly.

Or, just use twisted chain as Leatherist suggests for minimal (enjoyable?) pinching.

Has anyone done shibari with chain before? I'd be curious to know how that went.
