I generally like collars but I like to be creative with them. I don't do the locks and dog collars I like the ones that are more subtle BUT anyone in the lifestyle could probably figure out what it symbolizes. Those in the vanilla world just think "oh what a nice choker" LOL

i have a posture collar, it is a simple black whit red design that you have to corset like close in the back, and that alone takes forever that makes it dificult to move ones head.

Ahh the eternity collars look so nice, not bad pices either, werry nice, thanks for the link.

Well for me it means somthing, but it is also a fashion statement, i am a bit gothic so not all such girls need it to mean somthing, it depends on why am i wearing it whatever it is just a fashion statement or not.

my Collar is leather. It isround in the front and has flat ends at the buckle..I have a question though ..to have it wher i can move my head it has to be slightly lose ..because of this it want to move.. the buckle worksit way around to the frontof my neck ..this is very annoying and Master gets upset whe it is not properly worn. He is not here to look at it but said i needed to find some kind of padding to keep it from sliding around. A/anyone else have this problem and any suggestions on paddingit that will look half way decent? thanks

Is it restricting breathing? If not, and its just a comfort thing, then you could wear it on occassions and it would be a wonderful 'toy' to wear - keeping your head and neck straight and up - allows wonderful poise -

If you really want to alter it - any good leather worker should be able to alter the buckle for you. remember that good leather will stretch in time as well, so it might be you could wear it like you would new shoes so it slowly shapes to your neck.

Peace and Love

True leather is almost living, like for example i Dom game me a leather jaket that his uncle had given him, and it smells and feels of its previous owners, leather ahve a soul of its own. Perhaps a bit of the life Energy or somthing of the animal it came from remains or perhaps it absorb Energy easay from pepole and therefore creates such an atmosfere, i dont know, but it might be.

My slave girl(buddha) wears a rainbow chain with links large enough to lock it with a small luggage type padlock, had the black one but the color chipped,so now she has a brass one,it hangs a little loose so it doesnt discolor the skin.I also let her remove it to shower or sleep,so that helps with the skin color issues.

Agree totally with what you said about being a fashion statement other than having a real significant meaning.

I have know Masters who gave there subs/slaves several to wear at different times or for different purposes.

I use the chain collar and lock or leather collar for formal leather events. However, My subs all have a simple silver rope chain that can be worn to work, with family..outside the lifestyle, for them it is a reassurance that they belong to Me.

Do same thing with training collars they earn the right to have it lock

Well i did read here in some posts of pepole that thinks pepole like me that likes collars as a fashion statement to be fakes, how could i be submissive if the colalr meant so little. Well the collar is an decorative thing, a thing being the keyword, my submission however is NOT a thing.

My comments were in response to TammyJo...

and The only submission I am ever concerned with is that of My own submissives and don't question any others view of collars being a "fashion statement"

But for Me.. since collars are 'usually'an outward sign of ownership can be confusing for those observing.... and I am a bit old guard and feel that a unowned sub of any kind wearing a collar is making an assumption that they deserve to wear one. A collar is something of great significance to Me and not just a "thing" anymore than a wedding ring would be considered a "thing". Submission is not a thing either it is a gift ... given received, and treasured .

Well i am an owned sub, and while i might have worn some of my collars if i were not, as they are more of strange jewlery and dont scream collar, i would not wear a direct collar i think if i were not owned. Ok let me try to put it this way, in Norway we have theese lovery oldfashiond clothing that is natrinal dresses called bunad. Now you are suposed then to only wear a bunad from a dristrict where you have contection, i have a dark blue bunad from where i grew up, there are several bunads in the erea and i am considering getting another, i would not wear the bundad if i was not from that erea, but how many different bunads i wear from that erea do not matter, it is the bunad itself that is the symbol, not that paticular bunad that i got when i was fifteen. The same, the collar is a symbol of my ownership, a collar, not that collar.

Collars having various meanings but if the jewelry or collar worn is misinterpreted then some other form of communication must be used, like talking.

The problem is that if I see someone in a collar, now that I'm older and more experienced than when I was when I approached the "dog lover boy," I'm assume they are spoken for if I see it in the everyday world. If I see one at a kink event then I assume its just a signal of bottom/sub/slave role -- but I'm also very likely to not approach them without looking to see if they are with someone.

I feel like I have to respect the authority of others and part of doing that is approaching the dominant/owner first. A lot of people feel this way I think.
