Personally  I think your real friends would stay if you say "take me for who I am". That is why they like you.
But I understand what you try to say. We agree..that one should stay loyal to oneselfs.

All my friends do take me for who I am, and I take them for who they are. If you dont have a mutual respect for eachother its not really a friendship, and to me, the same goes for signifigant others. But in order to become a friend, things take time, as OmegaG said, to much information all at once can be overwhelming. It can also leave nothing to talk about, explore, or surprise people with.

Less is more.  I would want ppl to get a peak and have them follow it in conversation.

Indeed. Sorta like a great trailer to an even better movie, you have to intice them with it and draw them in closer.

I agree completely

well personally i think your profile is just as it is.if you want to expand it that's allright too.

and saw that you are making the transition from the Marines to civvy life. not really caring what others may say about this comment lol but from one to another Semper Fi.

best of luck on your search

OmegaG -> RE: Need some critique (2/26/2008 10:58:16 AM)

I like the changes.

There is something about the way a military man stands that always makes them stand out.  Even if I hadn't have seen your dog tags, I just knew.....

My mom was a Marine.  Thanks for your service.

thickerdenwater -> RE: Need some critique (2/26/2008 11:04:06 AM)

I appreciate the support from all of you. I usually dont like telling to many people that Im a Marine, because most people that join the Marines get "brain washed". I, however, had to strong of a will to have that happen. It is definately a HUGE part of my life, and always will be, but I dont feel as though I fit most of the sterotypes (besides the confidence and capability to do anything I want) It does, however, provide for good conversation (sometimes).

OmegaG -> RE: Need some critique (2/26/2008 11:13:51 AM)

I have never thought nor heard anyone suggest that Marines were brainwashed.  Most people I know know that when a person signs up for the Marines they aren't looking for an easy ride.

Considering that both my parents and an ex were military, to me knowing that you were in the service gives some insight into your personality and personal dicipline and what it takes to be compatible with you.

actually i can understand that. when i worked on stemaboats last spring some of my higher ups found out i was a Marine and had me use that discipline in the department i worked in and in other areas of the ship i worked on.

my boss's mom was one of the first female Marines and I actually got the chance to meet her while onboard.

i always say one of the things the Corps taught me well ws how to survive.

i think you will do well here also

thickerdenwater -> RE: Need some critique (2/26/2008 1:21:24 PM)

survival is without a doubt something  I know that Im good at. there arent to many situations that I dont know how to handle....
