some call it subspace...this slave calls it a trance state.

it isn't exclusive to BDSM.  the first time this slave entered it, she was in labor.

this slave has never experienced sub-drop after an intense scene.  she experiences the opposite that most report and would have to call it sub-high, if hard-pressed to label it at all.

beth, the last bit here caught me eye. When you say you've never experienced sub-drop, I instantly am curious as to why you think that might be. Is there something different being done with you, or to you, that gives you more the high rather than the low others describe?

LaTigresse,

this slave started experiencing and playing with adrenaline and endorphin rushes early on in life as a result of what she believes to be part of a therapuetic overload of hormones that began in utero.  Mom had problems with miscarriages.  Diethylstilbestrol claimed to be the "cure".  this slave was "washed" (in utero) with the equivalent of approximately 35,000 doses of birth control pills (synthetic estrogen).

this slave had been masturbating without climax since the tender age of 5...at 11, she started to experience mind-blowing orgasms after a few minutes of (mostly mental) stimulation.  the "foreplay" that most women need to get aroused is lost on this slave.

this slave has experienced spontaneous orgasms without a sexual thought crossing her mind and so much as riding in the car in a tight pair of jeans can bring this slave to multiple orgasms.  again, the need for vibrators, sexual aids or lubricant has again, been lost on this slave.

when this slave takes an aspirin, or an oxycontin, she is in MORE pain and misery than when she started out.  what most folks experience as a "normal" response to pain medication is the opposite with this slave.

this slave has chalked up not experiencing the "lows" of sub-space as just another occurance of her having the opposite experience that most have with so many other things, and is genuinely suprised when she  has an experience that others consider within the "norm".

beth,

Thank you very much for your reply. It explains a great deal. We are each so unique and different which is why I hate absolutes in most all forms. Also, another reason why communication is so important to me in all relationships. To assume one person is going to respond to X like others say they do, can be a grave mistake.

LaTigresse,

you are most welcome!

indeed, we are ALL unique individuals, regardless of orientation or how similar our responses or experiences might be.

while this slave doesn't participate in the camaradarie she assumes that those sharing the same responses enjoy, it does not ever make her feel < or > , simply because her responses are different.

Mercnbeth,

Very interesting post.  It must be difficult to.. uh... orgasm constantly.. like that... especially without much provcation.  I get aroused very easily and tend to orgasm with only slight effort.  For example, last weekend I came just from being spanked with a wooden spoon.  When I'm in some sort of trance/headspace, even someone commanding me to cum or willing me to orgasm can cause me to do just that.  And sometimes I have multiple orgasms, often very powerful, like a gushing fountain. All of the men that I've been with have commented on how amazing it is.  Does anyone else... squirt.. like that?  (Just curious)

Also, to get back to the "subspace" theme, I think that it's mostly a mental phenomenon.  Yes, pain or some other intense sensation and stimulation can make achieving that state of mind easier, but the sub/slave needs to let go of everything, to surrender control of herself to the emotions, the physical sensations, and most of all, to her trust of the dominant that is bringing her there.

As for the "lows" of subspace, I have not experienced that.  Whenever I've been brought to the trance-like state of what I think of as subspace, I've always been brought out of it carefully, with lots of loving, tender care.
