Mercnbeth -> RE: Feeling adventurous? Where would you move to if you could? (2/27/2008 7:16:12 AM)

There is a plan in place for this. Right now we wouldn't move anywhere. Palos Verdes on the South Bay, ocean view and breezes, LA lights at night, on the rare clear day a view of the Hollywood sign, a backyard pool area private enough to indulge our excess naked desires.

Next stop: Is to live nowhere. Our 'dream' is to have a 39' diesel RV and to travel the county for a year or so meeting people and spending time with people in places we enjoy.

Final Destination: A small villa on the cliffs of Tuscany Italy. Duel citizenship papers already in the works. Target date 2015.

Goals and dreams, but having our old ones and striving for them got us together. As long as that continues where we live isn't that important; however having goals is. When it comes to where we live, if we obtain ours GREAT! If we don't and instead live in a tent next to the freeway - Not so good - but if we are together it will still be GREAT!

Christine.....

I've moved at least 20 times since 1981...courtesy of the Army and the Air Force.  I ended up in Arizona under the same circumstances you are in...my son left Illinois to go to college, I had moved there to be closer to him.  When that happened, I decided that I had had enough of the cold and snow...living in it, working in it, the whole 9 yards....and looked for someplace warm and sunny to move to.  I got a job offer in Phoenix, AZ....the job didn't work out, but the subsequent ones did.  So, here I are!  Regrets?  Not a one......each time I've moved, I've moved someplace by myself, no friends or family there.....made friends, my family knew where to find me.  I moved with jobs pending, and without jobs pending.  Fortunately, my career field is an easy one to find a job in, the hiring process may take a while, but I know I'll end up with the job.

Go for it!  Either pick a place and run with it, or do the exploration thing......whatever works for you.  Lots of cities have temporary housing places....I moved into one, and have stayed here for 3 years.....check them out.  Depending on the seasons, the hotel suite places can be pretty reasonable.  There are apartment complexes here who have furnished apts available month to month.....all sorts of options!  The worst part about the move???  Gotta be the UNPACKING!  [:'(]

Good Luck!

I wanna go to Nigeria.............There are tons and tons of chicks over there looking for masters..............

All to foolery aside I loved Bavaria (southern Germany). The beer, fast cars, the beer, the food, the beer, the people, the beer and the countrside is awesome. A little mountain chalet with some valley property for a few critters, a few naked slave girls,a Swiss miss, a delectable Spaniard, a sexy little Brit, a tasty Frenchy, a ravishing Italian and a pretty little German one and uhh la la on the seventh day he rested, can anyone think of a better way to become multi-lingual..........

Oooh, like a Travels with Charley! What an amazing experience that would be.

My partner's family is from the Tuscany region in Italy and still live there, such a beautiful place. It's somewhere I'd be very happy to retire to.

Provence...a little cottage with a great big kitchen full of copper bottomed pots and freshly potted herbs. Lots of white wicker outdoor furniture, and a lavender garden.(sigh...)

Gosh, yes, and there are so many stunning places in Europe. Do you ever watch those property programmes that cater specifically for people wanting to buy properties abroad? A year ago I saw a property in the south of France somewhere (cannot remember where, unfortunately) and it had a small stream running along the end of their property, the property itself was over 200 years old and a typical farmhouse structure with the most lush greenery/orchards surrounding it.

Miss Harlet, judging from many people's preferences it sounds as if we're all going to be living close to one another. Scary thought, although rather amusing! [:D]

LadyRainfire -> RE: Feeling adventurous? Where would you move to if you could? (2/27/2008 1:04:44 PM)

I'm in a similar situation, Christine, where I'll be free here soon to move where I want. I'm looking around to see where I want to go but haven't made a hard decision yet. I'm looking at immigrating back to Australia - I'm qualified for that. I have friends there and I went to school there. I'm also looking for a mountain top far, far away from anyone so I won't have any neighbours. [:)] Or I may just keep my options open. I've already told the monsters that I'll just leave my cell phone number and email address and see them when I see them. 2 of them aren't um's and the other is plenty old enough to go live with his dad. It's kind of exciting to think that we can just move where we want to after all these years, huh?

beargonewild -> RE: Feeling adventurous? Where would you move to if you could? (2/27/2008 4:35:57 PM)

Tough choice between Donegal Bay, Cork, Tipperary, or maybe Dublin. If all else fails, I'd move to Australia and follow LadyRain cause rumor has it she makes damn good cookies!!!!

Babybass -> RE: Feeling adventurous? Where would you move to if you could? (2/27/2008 4:39:18 PM)

Bear - if you are moving to Ireland, Galway is a great city!! Or else anywhere on the south coast!! [:)]

Christine... go everywhere... and then go home... You will love them both... cause along the way, you will figure out where HOME is.

hugs (and you still can come with me....)

bipolarber -> RE: Feeling adventurous? Where would you move to if you could? (2/28/2008 5:36:20 AM)

I think San Francisco. I was visiting there about 8 years ago, and just fell in love with the place. One of the strongest BDSM communities on Earth, and a hot bed of filmmaking. (my two primary passions) Now, if I could only afford a one bedroom apartment there... I'd have to work three jobs just to cover rent!

divi -> RE: Feeling adventurous? Where would you move to if you could? (2/28/2008 5:43:23 AM)

I so love NY.. but If I was being adventurous I would so dig living in Ft Lauderdale with my huney.

Lashra -> RE: Feeling adventurous? Where would you move to if you could? (2/28/2008 5:49:28 AM)

Canada or I've toyed with the idea of Alaska. I like the mountains and I like the cooler temps, I hate the heat and humidity.
