BTW, my sex drive wasn't affected until after my hospitalization and recovery. Now it's raging. Was it the menopause, was it the pills I'm taking for my diabetes and attendant ills? Or was it the gangrene? I doubt that last one, however.

Subtee, La T, Im having a hot flash at the moment with  my back resting against a big ass pack of peas, with tears running down my face, screeching with laughter
and all the other ladies, I commiserate and empathise,
and gawd help me with poodle skirts I think I may just buy myself a straight jacket(heheh for days when IM not needing it so bad)

I'm watching this thread with a keen interest because
A. I hit 45 in December
B. I've been tired beyond words
C. Having hot flashes
D. My PMS is driving me crazy
E. My periods suddenly became regular after years and years of being totally illregular.

I hope its menopause because I'm sick of being worried about accidentally getting preggers as this late date in time. The only thing I don't have is lack of sex drive. My sex drive is in high gear. I think I could boot knock 24/7/365 a year!

From what I've read as long as you have a period you are considered fertile and conception is possible.

I used to work with several other women of a similar age. One day our manager said he was cold and was going to turn down the AC. All the women in the room shouted "NO" at the same time. The manager put on a sweater, muttering about working with a bunch of "hot mamas." Fortunately for him, we all thought it was a compliment.

It's been almost 2 years for me and i have not suffered one iota! Some mild PMS but that's it. Hell, i haven't even broken a sweat yet!  Loving EVERY FREAKIN MINUTE OF IT!!!!!

hear that Greedy. i can't tell you how many nights Mistress has sat there asking are you hot,i;m hot,can you open the window(19 degrees outside) we actually feel sor of sorry for our Lord because He's going through it with Her and in a few more years He'll have mine to run screaming from as well. lol

Well I thought I was getting the menopause (which is like, insane, since in my family they get it in their late 50's) but I guess I just have a decade long warmup.

No hot flashes, but the kind of rage episodes that not even my antidepressants can quash!  Thankfully my life is dedicated to disease maintenance, so I can tell it's coming before anyone bears the brunt of it.  I will be on birth control until I finally shrivel up to control the endometriosis and tumors so at least there won't be any replicants to concern myself with.  Insomnia?   Had that already, so I can't tell if it's worse.

I am just here to say that if I could have had my uterus removed oh, say, when I was 12?  I would have gone for it.  The ovaries, those are fine, but the decades of useless bleeding?  No, thanks. 

Of course, it's the ovaries that give us the RAGE, eh?  heh.

yeah.. it just seems so unreasonable to me for doctors to determine that an elective hysterectomy (sp?) is something to be avoided "because you might change your mind).

Ok you know what freaks me out, I was thirty last December and I already have a good many of the affore mentioned symptoms not to mention that mum was in peri menopause by her late thirties and has been in full menopause for the last four or five years (she is 48).

I am hella scared, not to mention that I potentially needs the baby factory in good working order for a few more years (just in case)
