knees2you -> One Just {1} Angry Woman. (3/5/2008 11:48:13 AM)

Letter from one 'Angry Woman'

I don't know who wrote it but they should have signed it. Some powerful words. This woman should run for president.

Written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one ticked off lady.

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren' t we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001?

Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was 'desecrated' when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?...Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia .

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed 'special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care !!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:

quote:

'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem' -- Ronald Reagan

I do care.  I dislike the extremists on either side of the fence.

I might also add that there's not much evidence Iraq had anything to do with 9/11.

pahunkboy -> RE: One Just {1} Angry Woman. (3/5/2008 12:16:54 PM)

It isnt that simple.

the war is not about terror it is about oil.

i recommend the writer  reduce comsumption- as this is 1 reason why our soldiers are shedding blood.

Termyn8or -> RE: One Just {1} Angry Woman. (3/5/2008 12:23:10 PM)

I am not touching this with a ten foot pole because of fear of jackbooted thugs knocking down my door, but I will say this.

This trouble did NOT start on September eleventh 2001. It started many years ago and the originator of that piece is in total denial of true history. I'll bet my life it was written by a US citizen who watches alot of TV. One who probably do not trust unreliable news sources which are defined as those outside the US. Can't trust that damn BBC. Bunch a commies.

Now kill them all. How dare they live their lives on our planet in a way not to our liking. We will divide up your countries as we see fit and you will like your new neighbors. If we fucked up your life too bad.

Yes, why doesn't that "author" know what the fuck she is talking about. Perhaps she doesn't recognize history before 2001. Like in 1947, 1948, 1963, 1967. So just kill them all.

Yup.

This post just goes to show how difficult it is to be an American citizen...People really don't get it.
I don't think that many Muslim would justify the actions of the 9-11 terrorists as being "endorsed" by their religion.

We, as Americans, hold ourselves to a higher standard. It's hard. We are not blind. We are not "Muslim fanatics" that blindly follow the lead of others. Yet, here is a post that is lumping everyone together because of a religious affiliation.

Who bombs abortion facilities?....Muslims?

Have not many horrendous crimes been committed by people wearing a crucifix?

You wonder why we are hated abroad? ...You wonder where the term "the ugly American" stems from? We routinely walk over people's beliefs and cultures because they are simply different than our own.

These are the very people that when asked about our diminishing rights....Simply state, "I don't care.....If you are not doing something wrong than you have nothing to fear."

I hope this woman stays in Jersey...Maybe she knows of a surgeon that could fix Aileen's fucked up knees? Ambassadors such as this are not needed...

This is a serious time in the history of our nation. We have enemies abroad. It is time to recognize just who are our enemies and who are not. By blindly falling in line and blaming our problems on all Muslims is the way that meaningless wars get started. I know you don't care. I know that you don't think that we should hold ourselves to a higher standard than those that killed Nick Berg. I find you sad. Small. UnAmerican.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who read that and didn't respond with "WOO YEAH AMERICA!! HOORAY".

That woman sounds extremely racist and gullible and I hope her viewpoint is the minority.

And many Americans hold the thought that somehow our suffering/death is more special than the suffering/death that happens in other countries.  I don't hold this belief.  Where is the outrage for what our nation is doing abroad?  Where is the outrage for people experiencing genocide and starvation?

I agree with domiguy.  Do not blindly lump everyone together because they study the Koran.  Or any other arbitrary reason you can think of to hate someone who is different than you.  Sheesh.

To which race is she being "racist" to?

KaraLady -> RE: One Just {1} Angry Woman. (3/5/2008 12:37:29 PM)

Perhaps "racist" wasn't the best term, since Islam isn't a race and neither is Iraqi. She's still horribly bigoted, though.

Lucylastic -> RE: One Just {1} Angry Woman. (3/5/2008 12:38:19 PM)

I see paranoia..I see hate and I see anger. ........much of it misplaced, misunderstood, and misdirected.
All religions have their nutters and they are all dangerous
I agree with Domi

Actually big ugly angry bigot would be a better thread title.

Wow, what a fantastic response.

I'm one of those people who feel that it would be so incredibly easy to be like the writer of the letter, and simply not care... but that's too simplistic, too easy, too dismissive.  I get tons of spam emails such as the one above, and while it would be so easy sometimes to say 'I'm an American, damn it, and this is the way it should be and screw everyone else,' I find it much more intellectual, mature and ethical to look at the issue deeper, question the way things are and wonder how it's going to get better.

I'm an economically conservative person, fairly conservative with social policies also, and relate more to traditional Republican policies ... however, I find myself more and more just needing a change.  In order for something that is going so horribly wrong to turn the corner for the better, there has to be a fresh perspective, a fresh outlook, and new ideas.  Even though I don't agree with some of the ideas, a new perspective could be what is needed.

iraqi is a race, its people from iraq

thickerdenwater -> RE: One Just {1} Angry Woman. (3/5/2008 12:44:58 PM)

I think she meant religiously discrimatory. I do agree with a lot of the OP remarks, however it wasnt started with 911 and iraq didnt have anything to do with it. What does bother me is the stunning lack of people who are appauled by this act of terrorism and turn a blind eye to it and say, we are better then them, so we shouldnt be so cruel. Im sure you would change your minds if you were affected. Hell, I know I would.

A war over oil? More accurate. But you still need to read yourself, and see what we are doing over there and in africa, and stop wearing your blinders. With the amount of building and drilling over there that we are doing (for water, not oil), we are doing a FUCK of a lot to help out. We are not oppressing our beliefs on them (as far as religion is concerned) and we are providing them with an aveunue of freedom, in which we are allowing them to steer the wheel. Its their own damn fault they cant comprimise with eachother and become peaceful and INDEPENDENT. And for those of you who think going into Iraq was a mistake, why dont you do a little research on how its old leader and his sons controlled it, what they did to the Kurds, and how well off they were. The way in which we stayed there was a mistake. going there, was not. even if it was for the wrong reasons that the media reported, we still needed to be there.

and its a damned good thing this person isnt an ambassador for our nation. wed be at war with everyone. I just hate how everyone shows our enemies more sympathy then our military (and by enemies I mean just that, and not Iraqi's or muslims)

KaraLady -> RE: One Just {1} Angry Woman. (3/5/2008 12:45:35 PM)

Iraqi is an ethnicity and a nationality, but not a race. "Race" has different, broader connotations.

Of course, could just be that I've taken too many humanities courses and I'm suffering from overdoing the academia.
