That is so ridiculous.  Does anyone actually think that drug dealers will stop selling because of this???  WTF.

And people are actually paid to think of these great ideas.

I can see it now - "Ahh...Sorry Joe, I can't sell all those drugs cuz I got nuttin to put 'em in."

What's next?  Let's make viles illegal.  And pill boxes.  And any other small little device that people can put drugs in.  Yeah, that'll do it.

This is absolutely retarded! Stepping on the rights of many to punish the few.

I personally use the little baggies to hold all my different sized screws and stuff in(The ones from headshops w/ different designs are great for organizational purposes).

This isn't the first time this has been brought up in Chicago. The aldermen tried this about 15 years ago, or so, if I remember correctly.

They also treid to tax "take out" food from a local restruant, to pay for garbage collection.

When Chicago decides to go. They go all the way.  We are easily among the highest in sales tax (10.5?) of any big city.   But that still doesn't does shite when it comes to the pot holes or poverty.

So it was a Democratic Alderman that proposed it, and pushed it through? Where is O59 to tell us how great that party is?

To the OP, it is just a political ploy to show the sheep that vote for them that they are fighting drugs.

Yeah I know, but I checked before I posted just to make sure. Political party has no bearing on stupidity, and whether they are doing things just to keep their power. So what are others in Chi town saying about this great use of your tax dollars?

http://www.illinipundit.com/2008/03/04/chicago-highest-sales-tax-us

high sales tax too.  if i recall correctly one of the sales taxes was for a stadium in the 80s.  THAT tax was dumb.  the city taxes utilties too. so an electic billof say $100 in the suburbs would be $110. add phone, heat, gas etc.  then the car window sticker was $75 -- they love to ticket car w/o

i heard the typical cook county home owner will see a $1000.00  INCREASE in property tax.     that is more then i pay total.

im glad i got out of there. i should have left sooner.  ild have more money

if the baggie ban works then i guess ok.   but if a consumer can find contraband- then a larger baggie or any number of modes could replace it.

i never bought that size- i did not think it would be of use in the kitchen

Great zombie Jesus! This is an outrage! If they do pass this ban on baggies it'll mean the end of stored lunch food as we know it...

...and the rise of origami!

Someone DRUG TEST this legislator.

They're so fucked up on drugs, they're ignoring the reality that the dealers are ALREADY conducting commerce in outlawed-substances. If they can get drugs, they can get baggies.

I dunno. This legislation could be really smart. It's not like they make plastic sealers for home use or anything!

All these years, all the money spent and who knew.  All it would take to do away with drugs was to stop selling baggies.

As Bugs Bunny would say,  "What a maaaaaaaaaa roooooooon!!!!!"

Typical of an idiotic city council that banned the sale of fois gras. they have a right to tell people how to kill their food? Sheesh. Still cant believe it went through.

We need the baggies to smuggle that black Market Fois Gras.
