People on the commute to work are the same with their pushing and shoving, you wonder if when they get into work they push and shove their colleagues around or is it just the strangers they don't need anything from they push around? Then there are those that wonder why people don't want to get involved when crimes are committed against them, people are so isolated from one another and far too self obsessed. I'm the same just a product of my society but I have no need to pretend I'm anything but that.

People they say "can you move down the carriage and let other people on." at the next stop the same people say in reply to the same question "there is no room here wait for the next train" self serving hypocrites.

Is it me, a sign of the times or are people just becoming rude. I say this as I am on this site looking for friends. I see other profiles apparently seeking the same. After having read a profile, I may write if I feel myself and the other have something in common, but I have noticed in the last few months, very rarely do I get an answer.

Now I did consider perhaps my mail settings were the problem, but I get mail from already established friends and from people on these forums, so what is it. Honestly I feel the other side consists purely of people looking at people and they perhaps wondering why no red writing shows up or is it, people are just plain rude, they will not respond to anyone.

This was not always so, at one time people responded if to say no thanks  etc or even hello.

Has anyone else noticed the same as myself ?

Is it a sign of the times, or do you think people are becoming a little less friendly and considerate ?

Not really, people are becoming tired of people who write them ,spazzing out when they say no.

So they just don't bother.

If you are a man…requesting friendship to a woman I believe it is often difficult to get the first response. Especially if you are totally unknown to them.

Fact of life….Men will  usually pursue a woman aggressively…any woman. Women on the other hand are selective because they receive many many offers. It is not a measure of your or their worth just a matter of gender and nature.

Where you may receive a few messages a day or week…I’ll bet most women receive 10 or more a day. Even more if they are active in chat or on the boards. And if the have a sexy avatar... they are swamped.

BUT…I’ll guess that those you have not pissed off too much but have conversed with here on the message boards would respond to a polite invitation.

I am semi in the same boat.  I am taken but I enjoy friendship especially when I get to talk about intimate stuff and lightly flirt without it being used as play material by the woman and vice versa and where it is known that it is just friendship and nothing more. The problem here is that the woman here are trying for the most part to hook up with guys and if they are single and you are offering friendship... your just damn tease. Also, they can get that from anyone really. I mean come on... what woman dosnt have an antourage surounding them after all who can resist something that giggles and squirts when you poke it.

Tell me, are you writing other male doms to ask about a photo, or comment on a post? Or are you referring to being turned down by women you're hitting on? Just like in a bar when a drunk makes a pass, any smart girl knows better than to engage, just don't meet his eyes and slide off the other side of her bar stool, women here know better than to respond to guys that don't attract them.

I never liked a heavy handed approach in a bar and personally I don't get off on it online either.

I got a really corny email from some guy in my area a couple of days ago. My profile says friends only, and his come on was that he really wanted a discreet friendship because "women are the nicest things". I kid you not. My response was to tell him that in that case, try having a friendship with his wife because she's one of those nice things. He didn't get it, and came back a second time to try to engage sexually. Block and delete.

Sometimes I get the same no response.  On various holidays, Mardi Gras being the last I think, I usually post something to the people that pop up when I sign on which are the people in my area.  I really don't personally know most of them nor do I expect to.  I also send messages to people around here if there is something that may be of interest in the area.  By "interest" I mean they had mentioned liking a type of music, hobby or something lifestyle related in their profile.  I probably get a response from about 1 in 5.  To the best of my knowledge I respond to anyone that writes me unless it's one of those generic emails that was obviously spam.

Why do I write in the first place?  I think of this as a community.  In every community I have ever been a part I usually act like I'm a part of it.  To me that means friendly hellos, giving a bit of help from time to time and doing things that bring people together such as a gathering or a friendly message.

On a side note, I'm wondering home many men in dresses and high heels sent faery a message.

Perhaps people are more realistic now?

I mean, the guy behind the counter when I go to get food.  Should he say, "Thank you very much!" with a smile?  I mean, sure, he could.. but why should he have to put on that act?  He's a human being, too, and he may just be down.  Whatever, though, you know?  I shouldn't be so emtionally needy that I need him to smile and be "nice".

Still, why is this happening?  I think people are discovering more in this world besides other humans.  Go technology!

But, seriously, I'm fine with it.  I'm relatively quiet myself.

I have definitely ignored some messages, but that's because of the content and how wildly it differed from what I put up on my profile. I would never ignore someone looking to just be friends. How rude.

Maybe the world is changing and I am one of those left behind, but I have values, and principles of common courtesy, I will not let go of my principles for any fashion or fad.

When I say friendship I mean just that, friendship, albeit it online, but friendship nonetheless. I have many aquaintances whom I would call friend, met here and elsewhere. We have corresponded and some cases met for coffeee and a chat and in other cases become firm friends, helpful to each other. Not once has it been that I have harboured thoughts of anything else with the label of friends. To me, friends does not mean fuck budy or whatever. Friends are some of the best people one can have, and I value my friends greatly, to a point where I will do anything in my power to help them if I can.

I was brought up to be chivalrous, I remain so.

If you really do mean just friendship, not cybersex, then you're unique. I have never gotten an email from an unknown male who was sincerely interested in friendship. Never. And I don't think I'm the only one. In this case, you're paying for everyone else's rudeness. Because all too often, a woman's polite no thanks is responded to with "you're too fat to fuck anyway". I'm sure you can see why we would prefer to not answer and not receive such nastiness instead of answering and dealing with that.
