I suspect it's a bait and switch. You see, many male subs pretend to be Doms in the hopes of finding a female sub who will....at first switch occasionally...but in the long run be their Domme. I've seen this happen quite a few times with some friends of mine.

What i think is happening with you is that these same males think saying they are Dom might give them some advantage with you over a normal male sub....as in you might consider them a challenge and more interesting when they are really just a regular male sub and don't have a Dom bone in their bodies.

Kinda like a sub in Dom's clothing type of thing...lol.

The form letters get the delete button. The one liners get the smartass reply. The doms seeking to submit usually receive something in between depending on how they go about the request. The one thing I can't stand is the married male that is just looking for a hump that uses D/s to have an affair.

Honestly, a lot of it probably comes from guys who think they have to be dominant, all the time, and can't accept that not everybody's role is set in stone, or that their dominance is not dictated purely by their actions (though I doubt that a go with Diane and her...erm...toolsets allows one to feel particularly toppish
