The song is ok; a bit slow for my tastes.

I feel if I were to grok it fully, I would become emotionally drained.

Curiously,

lmao. Thanks y'all.

Well, as some have said, some of us enjoy pain, or not. And yes, life is tough, but unless you get out there and live it, ya never know. Love is risk, and sometimes, we "win" , and sometimes we "lose". But, I'd rather take the risk than, win or lose, not play my hand.

I do not see love in this manner. To me, love is unconditional; a gift. The joy of which, derives from the act of giving.

For me to say that I lost at love; would be to ignore any value derived from the relationship. It has been my experience; there is always something to learn, which for me; has immeasurable value.

I definitely see the ability to both win and lose at love; for me, the loss comes from the opportunity cost.

While one can never be certain, the question is what opportunities in life did I miss, and what was I blind to, if I chased a love that, in the end, turned out not to be such a thing?  Or maybe I'm just a serious loner and have extremely high standards before I would love someone more than my solitude, and be confident that I had found an option compelling enough to run with?

The song, however, is not my style.  I jokingly refer to her as Amy Whinehouse, but I'm a bad person.

I have considered this, also.

I have also considered what opportunities I would have only mucked up, due to not having learned the previous lessons. And while it  hasn’t all been a bowl of cherries, I can’t say I’ve done that bad for myself, considering the hand I was dealt.

Holy shit, that is hot ! Thanks for the link!

I think Lindsay Buckingham is a waaaay underappreciated guitar god, and song writer. Dude really whips it in that tune, don't he ?

Thanks for your input, charmedpetKeira

I wonder, though, if love is "unconditional", even though that seems to be the ideal. Maybe some achieve it , I dunno.

I'm happy that it seems to be working out for you two, though.

Best Wishes to you and Yours

Well, Amy isn't to everyone's taste, of course, that's why they make 57 flavors, I think. But, I love this particular song, the lyric, the arrangement, etc.

And I love the Linsday link (song) that Leatherist was kind enough to post.

Eh. It's okay. If you want something really good, try Jill Tracy's album "Diabolical Streak."

As far as love being a losing game: well, life itself is a losing game. Love and lust are a few of the things that makes the whole thing tolerable.

Eh, both of those are pretty lousy to me at the moment.

Well, I see that this thread has been moved from BDSM to "off topic". I can see how it would be, but how come "langiappe" wasn't moved ? I guess I pissed someone off, or , mebbe "they" are just overworked.

I do think that this is  a well designed and operated site , though, and I appreciate it.

Cheers.
