Organised religion and pop music notions of love - two of the greatest plagues to trouble humanity.

P.S. pahunkboy, I also love how Mick Fleetwood plays the drums in the vid like the exstatic, mad drummer he is. Also, imo, an underrated musician.

Notions of love and real love are two different things, aren't they ? That's kind of the point to this thread, imo. And music is just music. Either one likes it, whatever the genre or piece, or not.

Btw, that's a great zen saying, Z.. Thanks for reminding me.

So you wanna be a guitar, sometimes ?

You're welcome. [:)]

Feeling music has always been a gift; I have made up little songs on my own guitar, “George”; and can manage a few on a keyboard, but this particular song gives me an urge to scream out to the guitarist, to the left of the lead singer; “Oh yes, Daddy; I was a BAD guitar. Pleeeese, play me harder!!!” [sm=banghead.gif]….

I’m ok now.

while it is true; distance makes the heart grow fonder, it has other affects too.

I think listening to anything Winehouse does is a sign of insanity. [;)]

You have a point, but a good hat will cover it.[sm=brush.gif]

Love is risk, and sometimes, we "win" , and sometimes we "lose".

I do not see love in this manner. To me, love is unconditional; a gift. The joy of which, derives from the act of giving.

For me to say that I lost at love; would be to ignore any value derived from the relationship. It has been my experience; there is always something to learn, which for me; has immeasurable value.

k, unconditional love is the ideal, and while some people are capable of it, it's quite rare. Usually, people "fall in love". I think that's why they call it falling. It's often, though not always based on illusion and, perhaps, need of some kind.

That's what I am really wondering about.

Perhaps not as rare as one might think, only mislabeled.

Actually, I think people “fall in lust”, confuse it for love, and then get angry when the other person did not live up to their dream.

This statement is a major clue that it is not love. Love is sincere; if a person builds a relationship on an illusion, they are not being sincere to themselves, or the other person.

I am still testing the solidity of the definition I put together for what love is, but so far, I am having a tough time disproving it.

I am a little perplexed however, as I have used a very similar definition for another popular idea, and the thought that the two could actually mean the same thing, is well… freaky.
