Most of my day-to-day clothes consist of dark blue jeans and black t-shirts. My coats are all black. It's just a utilitarian, easy to work with color.

Of the three pieces of fetishy clothing I own (a kind of ruffled pirate shirt, a too-short kilt and a pair of leather shorts), only my shorts are solid black. The kilt's got a salt-and-pepper pattern.

All the fetish clothing I earmark on wishlists and such is set to black too. I actually like color, reds and blues and purples (like Lashra, no yellow. Ick.) I wouldn't want anything that's solid in those colors, though. Pinstriping or accents, but not out and out. Wait, no, backup. Some stuff, like lingere or pet-play gear, I would want in colors other than black. But pants/shirts or the like, I prefer black with accents. I would feel silly in a bright red leather vest. Of course, if I was collared and my Domme wanted to see me in red...I'll get over the silliness (probably enjoy it, actually).

On Vacation over the past week, walking a few steps behind my Owner(while still holding her hand so as not to lose me) was a must.  Simply because we were visiting New York and people will walk/run you over without so much as blinking.  Since she's from the city, she knew what she was doing...  Being as I've rarely been out of the state of Tennessee, I had this amusing tendency to just gawk at something and not pay attention to where I was going.

I joked it was the only time using a leash in public might be practical. :-p

Have you ever been in a playspace and wondered, silently of course... is that a punishment dressing like that?  or is it for humiliation?  or did s/he just look in the mirror and say... "what a fox?"

I've looked at some outfits and thought this more than once...

Totally moving away from the original topic but I actually do the opposite.

I have my slave walk in front of me, his left arm bent behind his band and I holding onto it. This way he clears the path but my grip on him and the position of his arm re-enforces our positions.

Patrick once noticed that and when he took us to IML a few years back and he was escorting to the ladies room and back to our seats (how would Fox know the way in a strange place) he stepped in front of me, placed his left arm behind his back and said "Ready, Ma'am?" That was such a nice thrill to note how well a very well-trained slave picked up on his friend's preferences when she was a dominant. No, Patrick is very gay so it's just his internal drive to service and representing his master well that kicked in.

i saw some pictures, years back, from a site putting itself forward as some kind of slave training academy, and they had a similar uniform... The slaves all wore the same off-white, unadorned, fairly shapeless cloth jumpsuit, same hairstyle, no jewelry, no footwear... they were often in bag-style hoods that matched the jumpsuits... It was very striking. If you look at clothing as a symbol of power, or even a source of sexual power a la fetishwear, it really confronts that.

For me it plays with the other idea of a hierarchy signal -- limited fabrics and colors and even styles/lengths to signal social status.

In any crowded space, this is my preference too -- or if I'm unfamiliar with the layout or something.  If I know my way around and am very comfortable, I prefer the lead.. but I do believe its the job of the submissive (insert your word here) to clear the path or as I say it.. run interference

I would feel false in white, white reminds me of innocence and purity. I have never worn too much white but I bet I would stick out like a sore thumb.   I wear mostly black because it is easier to mix and match other colors with. Partly because when I was younger I grew up in the Goth/horror punk scene and I also worked shitty service jobs that required black pants and shoes wearing black grew into a habit.   Purple and yellow are old colors of royalty in some cultures and colors like yellow and aqua marine are funeral colors in others.  Personally I would pick a more neutral color for submission like blue or green something that would blend into a crowd more than white


but i would wear what ever she wanted

No... no you're not.  XD  And now I can breathe a sigh of relief.

Personally, I'm such a fashionista that the only thing I worry about with colors is whether it complements my slave's eyes, skin tone, etc.  which in his case would include black, green, blue, and gray/silver.  I never thought of black as a solely dominant color, though I can see through historical applications how that (and possibly purple) could be construed as such.  I associate black lingerie with the fabulous Bettie Page and other classic pinup girls, so to me it's actually one of my favorite colors to use in sissification!  It always makes me think "classy vixen."

I like my slave in jeans and a comfortable shirt.   What ever makes him comfortable is ok with me.  That practice is old school protocol which is ok.  It is just preference.

In this instance, I totally agree.  Cater to me.  Make sure my path is clear and the puddles are covered.  However, if I have dressed them as a total dufus, I would only want them to walk in front of me so that I didn't miss anything to laugh at.  But, I certainly won't be holding their hand, or claiming them at that time...*chuckle*
The must suffer this humilition alone.

I choose white, with purpose.  It is the universal color of surrender.  Period.
But that doesn't mean I don't like other colors.  I just don't like my slave looking "toppy" or whatever you want to call it, in something full of black leather straps and buckles.  Or black hose and garters that create a feeling of sexual "power."
And, I'm sure, that this social conditioning of color isn't intrinsic to all, however, I have found it to be effective on a large majority in regards to a visual reminder of "position."
I also love blues, greens, pinks, reds, purples.  And, like others, NO YELLOW!!
Did you know they did a research study and found out that yellow irritates people more than any other color. In fact, people who drive yellow cars will get more tickets than the average bear.
Just somthing about that yellow.

We are very similar then.  In the house...neeekid.  Period.  All other slinkiness will be any color but black.
Mix a blue, red, or white, corset and panties with white hose, then, to contrast,  black restraints, hood, and waist belt (all with strategically placed D-rings, of course).....mmmmmmmmmmmm.
