If You could go back in time,
where would it be and why?

You could go back as far as the Midevil times,
to the Biblical times, to the Years, 1960's, 1970's etc.

Who might you have been?

Sincerely, Ant

About five days, and I'll bring along all the winning lottery numbers from that time

I'd go back and watch our house be built and watch the changes over the years... I think that's the only way we'd ever have of figuring it out.

The past - is the past.
I would much rather move forward and live in the now.

I do not think I would bother going back in time. There is nothing I want to see there. What is done is done. I would not change it even if I could. Y/you never know. Something bad could happen as a result.

So, I am very satisfied being right where I am, doing My own little thing.

Yeah, even if I went back in time as a rich beautiful queen or something...there's still diseases and politics and no hot running water and no Taco Bell.

I'd definitely go back in time to meet Jesus...Just because he's Jesus.
And the 1500's in Italy to meet Michelangelo...my all time favorite artist.
But then I'd have to go and meet Vermeer and Rembrandt too.

If You could go back in time,
** If?? Who says you can't?
According to Quantum Physics you *can* go back in time!

Though, I'm a have to *see* to believe person, especially when it comes to the *Unknown Possibilities* that Quantum Physics studies.
However, you just never know...

where would it be and why?
**I wouldn't want to go back in time, I prefer to use my past experiences as learning experiences.
I can create my own reality by using my thoughts/memories to change my outlook on life, and how I react to certain situations in the future.

I cannot change the past, but I can use the past to my advantage, by stopping, thinking, and not automaticly reacting.
By using O/our past to better O/ourselves today, we can affect O/our tomorrow.

(she died unexpectedly just before i turned 19 )

Several places and times, but one I would like to go back and see the universe come into existence and settle whether it was created or just appeared. I would want to go to Egypt to watch the pyramids being built. I would also want to see Stonehenge built and used. And there are two days I would go back to without blinking an eye... the days that my sons were born. I have never had a more spiritual experience than when they were born.

It's nice to think about, but the stark reality is, we are here, now and must make mistakes and triumphs with each and every day and hope we learn from them.

Yeah, right. Where did you learn that ? In the novel quantum, or in the TV show code quantum ? Let's talk about that when a lab will announce the quantum teleportation of a molecule of water. And then (if I'm still alive, I'll tell you to wait till they manage to teleport the quantum attributes of a protein.

And in any case, if it were possible, that would be quite a well kept secret don't you think. Except if you think that the movie Men in Black was a documentary, it's a bit hard to believe that people can come from the year 344350 (year of the Guild ;) )to here or further back but we never noticed.

Anyway, I would go back to Alexander with a remedy for his malaria or whatever killed him, so that he could conquer Rome (which was next on his list, apparently) and the rest of Europe. One last bloodbath to avoid so many bigger ones, so that Alexander can achieve political stability, peace, economical prosperity, cultural and religious freedom, and a fair justice over the whole ancient world, and peace with his neighbours... "and the world will live as one".

It was a bit hot a few seconds after the universe appeared, and there wasn't much to breathe. And that wouldn't answer your question. Maybe going back to the time of Moses would be more informative. If you go there, don't forget to take your translat-o-matic with you. And remember you can't send the results by SMS.

I never said I was a firm believer, as to where I heard this theory...
Watch the movie "What the fuck do we know?"
In that movie they make reference that going back in time IS possible.

i've heard tell that if you are able to line up two black holes just right (therein creating the elusive white hole of legend), it would be theoretically possible to use the worm hole as a passage. however, the issue of singularity and that spaghetti phenomena hasn't yet been figured out to the best of my knowledge.

Who says we are moving forward in time now. Just because we remember the past and not the future?

I would want to see it all from the creation of the universe to the time of the big crunch or slow cold death of the universe. There is nothing that would not be of interest.

I'd bop around and talk to Einstein, Niels Bohr, Freud, Jung, Stravinsky, Debussy, Monet...

Ya know, just to kinda find out what they'd been up to.

Well, yeah, but mathematicians who study black holes (yeah, they call themselves physicists, whatever) say that "black holes have no hair" (the "no hair theorem"). It means that a black hole only has a mass, an electric charge, and a momentum, no matter what kind of matter entered. It's very likely that if you enter a black hole, if you get out of a white hole then it would be under the form of light. Another problem is that if you're falling onto a black hole, tidal forces tear you appart well before you reach the center.

Tristan : What's the point in saying that we might not be really moving forward in time when we define forward by our memory ? And then you have the second principle to be happy. The slow death of the universe ? Woudn't that be boring ? And depressing ?

SirknottynNice : I know about the movie What the fuckdoweknow, but the fact is we know some things. The depressing thing about modern physics is that there are limits. Heisenberg principle, the speed of light... how sad.
