You're right, NO ONE is putting ropey anything near my breasts! Given my rapidly advancing age, I fear that should they be put in rope bondage, and removed, they'd never quite return to their natural shape again - gravity does awful things to us mature ladies lol

Edited to add: Breakfast calls, it's almost 10am and I need to get my day started (all this dirty banter with Greedy has me unnecessary, I've got to go give the 'wife' a seeing-to!).

Have a great day xxx

a woman's hormones fluctuate, so while you can't make a connection between the tenderness and your period, I will say that your hormones can fluctuate up to a couple of weeks prior to a period (and after) so it sounds typically hormonal to me.

Greedy, i agree with Ropey Tits...errr.....with MissMorrigan on this. It sounds hormonal

Mine have always felt "lumpy" and my dr says that's alright, but to watch for odd changes. Not sure about the tenderness, but if it moves from side to side, it might be hormornal. I can understand not wanting to go to dr's but sometimes you have no choice. When I was in Orlando, I had a lot of trouble with my ears and spent hours at their clinics. They totally sucked, but I got the medicine I needed and that's what was important.

I found this page browsing through the web, there might be something that could help ya here...

I do the breast self-exams.  It always just feels slightly lumpy to me (I'm figuring muscles/fatty tisssue etc).

Occasionally, I get tenderness on one side of a breast or the other.  NOTICE that it's not specific to either breast..sometimes, the outside of one breast will be ouchy, sometimes the other breast will get it.,  sometimes both.  Doesnt seem to be associated with my period.

Any insight? (yes, I know.. see a Dr.. but I'm flatass broke.. lol)

As a medical "professional" [X(], I will gladly examine the breasts of any attractive ladies.

I tend to think it's hormonal.  Also...mammograms aren't that painful.

christine1 -> RE: Since there are other posters who come here with medical issues.. (3/15/2008 6:40:15 AM)

greedy, i get the same thing and i've gone to the doc over and over again over it.  he tells me if it goes away then to not worry about it. it's usually a pulled muscle from lifting something in a wierd way or that is too heavy or just a stage in my monthly whacked out cycle of mcd.

angelspassion4u -> RE: Since there are other posters who come here with medical issues.. (3/15/2008 7:48:26 AM)

I agree with the posters that say just keep checking and if you feel anything different find a clinic or a Dr to have them check.  I went for my first mammogram  at age 38  August 2006 and they found cancer.  So checking and being checked is very important whether you like it or not.  I kept putting it off then my Dr finally just sent me.  Who knows how much worse it could have been if I waited another year or so before getting my first mammogram.  After a lumpectomy and radiation knock on wood I seem to be cancer free at this point in time.  I was never lumpy before but I am now lol in the one that had the cancer and I am finding that it goes with hormonal changes in me for how lumpy I get during the month.  Good luck to you.

At the risk of  jumping in, putting my 2 cents in  and getting my nuts virtually cut off here, GT, your occasional discomfort may also be a result of lymph fluid build up. there are lymph  glands in the armpit area  and to either side of the breasts. Unlike the ciculatory system, the lymph system has no pump. It gets ,ummm, pumped by normal muscle contraction in the course of normal daily activities and this can be an issue for people with pain and other physical problems.

Massage can help. Very gentle massage. It can be self done, or, you/ve had a few offers on here already for help in that area.

As far as seeking and getting medical care is concerned, I know that, sadly, in the U.S., that can be a problem. But, it can still be done, even having no insurance and if one happens to live in a rural area. And, unlike the "you get what you pay for" rule of life, there are some skilled, compassionate health professionals out there working in free clinics and for social services. They just need to be sought out.

Best wishes and good luck to you.

You're a very good smoocher (insert lustful smiley)

I've had a mammogram, it's not pleasant - another of those necessary evils though lol

Thanks to the other Miss M, I cannot help but think my new nick will be 'Ropey Tits'!

Don't you have any friends in Canada you can go visit and while there, nip to a doctor and get examined for nothing, Greedy?

Being examined would still cost as she lives outside Canada. Besides there is no such thing as "nipping in" to see a doctor here, there are waiting lists just like everywhere else *winks*

check the local newspaper for free or low cost screenings.

and check a womans center for a referral.

[me is resists urge to grab your breasts and examine....lol bad me]

velvetears -> RE: Since there are other posters who come here with medical issues.. (3/15/2008 11:55:12 AM)

You may have fibrocystic breasts.  The firbous tissue is very hard and your breasts will always feel lumpy to you.  Self exams in this case are very difficult. i was told to learn my lumps and if i felt a new one to bring it to the doctors attention. Trouble was there were so many i could not remember them all.  i have mamograms, but i also have insurance.  They do mamogram screenings every once in a while for free in my area - maybe they do in your area as well.  Call a place like planned parenthood or a women's center and ask for imformation about free mamograms. good luck!

I seem to recall seeing an ACS or Red Cross (or something like that) mammogram RV at Parkaire, near where I live. If so, they're likely down your way, too.

Here's a thought which will require a partner. Have your partner (lover, mother, friend, whatever) examine your breasts, and put a dot with a magic marker wherever there's a lump. Then take a good photo so you have a baseline.

Nothing that a good ol' fashioned titty fucking couldn't cure. Or we could do it in your butt...with you laying on your gut.

Hey, G.T.

I've had weird shooting pains in my breasts off and on - for me it's hormonal, even if it wasn't right before my period.  I had them even more when preggers - the same with tender spots.  I have yearly mammo's, starting at 38, due to lumpy breasts.  I'd suggest calling Planned Parenthood to see if they can either help you, or direct you to a clinic.  I always see 'no-cost' mammograms advertised, though for the life of me I can't think of where.  You could also perhaps call your local hospital and ask how they handle exams and mammos if you can't pay.  I'm sure there are ways to be treated - you just need to check around a bit.

Hugs to you.

MissHarlet -> RE: Since there are other posters who come here with medical issues.. (3/15/2008 12:36:13 PM)

Greedy .. lumps can be caused by caffeine too .. certain types of fibrous lumps . cut out ALL caffeine for at least a month and see if that helps ... but do get checked .... My family has a history of fibrous lumps and it is all related to caffeine ....just something to be aware of ....
