Ok, usually just one litre of Mt Dew a day, if that much.  Ok, Will keep that in mind.

Thx Bound.. I'll check into it :)

God, I am so grateful for you all :)

GT ~  Go to the Health Department.

It will cost a little bit, depending on your income, but it is FAR cheaper than a doc.  And they tend to do a thorough job.

For Florida:

There is REALLY no excuse for any female to NOT get her well-woman exams.

You are welcome.  I do not know why so many forget that resource.  They are in every county.

I used to go to mine for my yearly and get my BCPs.  The pills cost $4 a pack there.  Hella cheaper.

chocolate.. *ick*

I think I eat MAYBE a total of 5 reeses cups iin the course of a year. and thats mainly cause of the PB/choc combo.  If it was straight choc? no way.

Occasionally (and I mean MAYBE...if I'm being extravagent in my guess) I'll eat some Ghirardellis once a year. G makes some YUMMY, milky creamy choc...

Ok, does this mean I gotta turn in my "chick" card now???

Oh man, that sucks major arse! I vote that Greedy moves, becomes a UK citizen - I have a spare bed - okay, remove the spare bed... I have a warm bed (rack), free healthcare and regular gynae exams to ensure continued well-being. We'll have a whipround to raise Greedy's airfare, I'd throw in the first $50 [:D]

Nope.. you cant have her... that means she would have to move away from me! *pouts and stomps her foot*

She has to stay here... *smiles*

BTW Ladies they now have a process where they do not squish you.. they take a digital image by you laying in this tube, and your boobs go into these indented cups. I am getting that kind done because I too have those lovely cysts and bumpy boobs.

Greedy there should be some local org. that gives breast exams for free. I will see what I can find out for ya.

Gwyn

I seem to recall seeing an ACS or Red Cross (or something like that) mammogram RV at Parkaire, near where I live. If so, they're likely down your way, too.

Here's a thought which will require a partner. Have your partner (lover, mother, friend, whatever) examine your breasts, and put a dot with a magic marker wherever there's a lump. Then take a good photo so you have a baseline.

Ya know.. you havent been over in a while......

Gwyn ... thanks for passing that info along.  I have similar issues with my breasts, and anything to avoid the 'squish' would be more than welcome!

Oh, Miss Morrigan, you sweet thing!  I about snorted my virtual coffee at your earlier post!!

I have paid for my own health insurance for years, being one of those lucky sickos who needs the Good Insurance.....I now pay about $600 a month for it.  After I cough up a deductible of $1250,  everything is covered.  Since my meds (which cost over $400 a month, because I get a DISCOUNT thx!) go toward the deductible, ohhhh only a few of those hundred-dollar doctor visits are needed to put me over the limit by April.  This new policy has mammograms totally covered!  Which is vv exciting, since I used to have to budget for them, and it's something over $300, once you add all the bills up.   My colleague, cancer survivor and psoriasis patient, has to pay out of pocket for her Enbril.  Just don't ask how much ONE shot of that stuff costs.

Anyway, Greedy!  Your symptoms sound okay, and re the caffeine, don't have a cow, just cut it out and see if it makes a difference.  For many women, the caffeine has no effect on their fibrocystic tissue.  But it never hurts to cut back to reasonable amounts anyway.   You can eat one of those massive chocolate bars (the giant ones, like you get at easter) to get the caffeine of one good cup of coffee.

Totally check the health department, there are options for those not broke enough for medicaid!

Don't you have any friends in Canada you can go visit and while there, nip to a doctor and get examined for nothing, Greedy?

Visiting Canada would not help her anyway, you  have to have a health card for the province you live in or a private health insurance plan, my son moved from Ontario to British Columbia once he got there ended up needing to go to the doctor and learned he had no coverage and had to pay out of pocket since provincial coverage is not transferable, he would have to work 3 months or so in British Columbia before coverage would start, I can travel to the other provinces or US and get coverage only because it is covered under my  Greenshield coverage I get thru work, but it is only good as long as I remain an employee.  Other factor is she would have a long wait here to get a doctor,   the waiting period for a family doctor in my area is 3 years due to serious doctor shortages.

~FR~

Greedy, I had the exact same thing last year -- I have big boobs and have to wear an underwire bra, and it killed me for the wire to rub against the sides of my breasts. In fact, I thought it was my bra that was causing the problem. However, when I called my doctor (who actually acknowledges some herbal remedies), she told me to cut down on the caffeine and to take Vitamin E pills (up to 800 IUs). It absolutely worked...and fast!!

Here are some links to a couple of web sites that also mention Vitamin E as a way to alleviate the pain:

Hope this helps!

So woman.. I gave ya the info to your local planned parenthood earlier in the thread.. Will you be calling them Monday? I have one friend dying of cancer at the moment and I'd really rather not worry about you! Get it done! I'm sure it is just fibroids! But, I'm not a Dr and I do know if it is anything more than just fibroids reacting to hormone fluctuations the treatments are much easier and less invasive if caught early.  Don't take chances!

Lets put it this way! Get an apt or I'll head over to the Lair and get up a caravan to come kick your ass! Planned parenthood charges based on what you can afford to pay. Most people end up paying nothing! If you have something against Planned Parenthood let me know. There are free and low cost clinics in most major cities and yours is no exception. I'm great with Google and we can find you something.
