Status: offline 		Thanks for this post - I always appreciate any rope discussion or info.  Can't wait for shibaricon this year!  This will be my first time.  I am a little worried about how to approach in order to get the most out of it....I am a top and it is extremely rare that I am comfortable enough with an individual to bottom but I understand that perhaps one of the best ways for one to learn at Shibaricon is to bottom - experience being tied by lots of different folks.  Any thoughts or advice?

Make sure you get tied by Mark Yu.  He has trained in kinbaku and does some very nice work.  You will notice some differences between how he ties and some of the others.  You also want to take a look at Tatu and Steve Indands as they have worked with some people in Japan that our Kinbaku Masters as well. 

But most of all have fun :) you can pick up a lot at shibaricon.  I will also make a little known rope recomendation

Its the real deal stuff from Japan that he imports.

There is also Master K's books ( his shibari book which is a good luck you can find it)  and his new book "The Beauty of Kinbaku" which will be out very soon.

Yes this is highly unusual for the english side of the Japan news system to cover this.  If you try to grab things on Kinbaku on amazon.jp (books\DVDs) sometimes you hit the infamous "we dont ship there problem" (at least to america, I.E Arisue Go's five rings 1 instructional book) .  So its nice to see this information  for free in a news paper in english.  Hopefully the japanese will loosen up a little.

However if you find this interesting there is a blogger in Japan known as "Tokyo Bound Report"

This is a very interesting english look at the Japanese as well.

this is a nice blog...does it have it's focus on Osada Steve (who is actuelly staying in Berlin to give lessions in his german dojo), or does it capture the whole scene of japanes bondage masters?

Status: offline 		Yes it does cover other artists very well.   Namely Muira Takumi (a really good hardly known Nawashi outside of Japan, who also  makes the greatest shibari rope on the planet I might add) Yukimura, Nureki and Denki Akechi. and a person or two from here on CM like Esinem. 

I think your profile shows Germany you might want to try to make some of Osada Steve's classes if you get a chance.

The other fun thing on that blog is that it has videos and pictures on the bottom of some entries which are very fun to look at.

A friend of mine participated in one of Osadas classes only one week ago.
5 days of 6 hours rigging every day. He was overwhelmed.

I'm happy to have Matthias Grimme here in Hamburg, Germany. He's known as Drachenmann and also a really good rigger, from whom I learn a lot.

ShibariCon was wonderful!  So much great rope being tied - the beautiful and the wicked - and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

I heard through the grapevine that Master K and Mark Yu will be teaching at the Fringe this fall.  Should be a great rope track!  We will be at Beyond Vanilla as SJ is teaching there the same weekend.

Status: offline 		I like the look of the hemp/jute rope the most but I have only had the hemp/jute rope on me once or twice in the past and I liked it even though it was rougher but the man I am seeing goes more the soft rope route as it is his preference.....I have not made a suggestion to him for the other as he is the one doing the work and buying it. Maybe I will ask and see what the response is...or maybe i will just buy some and present it to him...i think that is the ticket!....Thanks for all the information I am going to copy it and send it to him too.
