*Greetings:* *I know most of you have heard about the scandal involving the New York Senator and his $80,000 prostitute ring.* *My question to women and men alike is where do we draw the line when our spouse is caught cheating?* *His wife stood by him, or at least stood up there with him. The poor thing was in shock. I am sure she did this as part of the job as First Lady of New York.* She should have been allowed to speak. When Hillary stood by Bill, we knew she was probably going to beat him up when he got home, or she did not care. This lady appeared to be in shock as I was when I caught my ex cheating. *It was bad enough to go through it with my small family, but for the entire country to know, it would have been devestating.* *What do you think?* *Regards, MissSCD*

Every situation is different. I know it's very humiliating, especially when it's in front of the whole world. It's difficult to know what goes on behind closed doors.

It is none of my business. As for Bill and Monica: there is no proof whatsoever that anything occurred between them. As for adultery: some men do it, and probably a much larger number of women do it even more. Jesus said: "Let he who is without sin throw the first stone".

i give her credit for not just cutting all ties with him and heading for the horizon with the kids in tow. And that the one reason i can think of that she might stay with him, the kids. This whole mess is bad enough, but why add the stress of a divorce to everything else their daughters have to be going through? then again, i could be totaly wrong. Either way, i hope everything works out for her and her daughters. Spitzer himself i could care less about, he brought this on himself, but his family shouldn't have to suffer for it.

What amazes me is the sight of these women dutifully standing next to their husbands as they humiliate themselves into abject public apologies for their sexual forthcomings. I would have told him to fuck off, and to face the crowd on his own. But I'm a selfish, cruel, evil woman.

I have always wondered why anyone BUT the spouse gives a shit who a politician has sex with. There was a great article, I think in The Times, this weekend on this subject. High profile marriages and infidelity. Also a good discussion on NPR either last Thursday or Friday. Personally, I think that sort of marriage is often more of a business arrangement/partnership, with the politician's career being the business. To stand by the politician is probably in many cases, better business........up to a point. If the career goes down the toilet and there is no reason to maintain the business partnership, the marriage will probably end also.

The other night they had some clips of when he first took office, and she was giving some interviews. She just GLOWED. She was beautiful. The stress this has put on her has come through in her face and, of course, in her demeanor. I really feel for the whole family.
