*Grumpy*

I've recieved several emails from Dominants, several who seem to have many years of experience, and respect in the community, saying that because I am in school, my "value" as a submissive is ruined. Apparently, by the time I get out of school, I will be old and fat anyway, and no one will want me. *eyeroll*

I was wondering if anyone else had an opinion on this. Why would you not want your sub/slave to better themselves? I would never, ever, consider dropping out of college to please a Master. I'm going to be an LPN, and I'm going to work in an ICU burn ward. No flexiblity on that. At all. Maybe that doesn't make me a real sub. Screw it, I'll go get a real sub from Quiznoes.

Do they not approve becuse it would be time away from them? Is it a non-submissive thing to do?

I'm honestly trying to figure out why this is a problem. :-/ Flame away!

Because male dominants are still men and are still human and thus some can and will be intimidated by an educated woman.  When I got my masters degree my owner was very proud of me and loved to show it around (I had a small abbreviated version he'd show to people), until I had to remind him that my degree did have my full name on it so maybe we shouldn't show it to everyone.  So not all male dominants are like that.

its a time issue. so many here are in a hurry to find some peace of happiness. they dont want to have to wait the years it will take for you to complete yourself. i say forget them and move on. a true friend would want you to follow your dreams.

because they want some hot babe who is not smarter than they are---<snarky snort>---stay the course and you will find one like Stephann or Knight of Mists or Iron Bear----or the myriad of others who will support your dreams as you bring them theirs.

To me, those Doms scream -abuse! There are times when going to school might be a problem, it does tend to create financial problems and time constrants. However, aside from that, I can't see any reason a man would have objections to a woman getting some've that there learnin' unless he thought that once she wised up-she would leave him. Or, in the case of the idiots who e-mailed you, never go out with him in the first place.

It's refreshing to see so many women and men on the forums share this opinion. Haven't seen one person be contrary just for the sake of it. Ah-good old fashioned common sense prevailing over BDSM fantasies of helpless, uneducationed, chained slave girls.

maybe they feel inferior to someone that has a bit of intelligence and knowlege,
any one in their right mind would want their submissive to better themselves and do the best they can after all it reflects on them in the long rum.

Lynnxz,

It is a problem because there are a great many dominants out there that are looking for "kinky caretakers"  for themselves.

I am confused.  You have several dominants all wishing you to give up school so your value will not be ruined?  If you belong to this many men, my hats off to you!  If they are just random bozodom's why would their meaningless drivel make you grumble?
A submissive has just as much right to choose what works for them, as a dominant does to choose his pleasure.  If those dominants wish a brainless hole, more power to them.  One of them would never be my choice.  To get more than one.. LOL would be my nightmare.

An intelligent creative and educated submissive is vastly superiour and can offer more than an uneducated tart who can do nothing more than act basically as a housewife with special benefits. But hey, that's my view, I believe in education.

Our family had a conversation about this just the other night...  There are many people who are content just the way they are and do not have an interest in being better, learning more, etc.  Personally, I would find it unfulfilling, but I do not consider them to be out of their right mind.

There are also those that do not follow the ideology that the submissive is a reflection of their dominant.

LMAO...Your English is becoming scarily "Americanized"
OP...i am a self-sufficient sub.  Any Dom i am involved with can know without a doubt i am not seeking a comfy bed and roof...i am seeking the mental, emotional and physical intimacy that a D/s relationship can provide.  He can feel comfortable knowing we can have stimulating conversations because i am educated...that should anything happen to Him, i won't "lose the farm", and that my choice of Him is well informed and based solely ont he measure of the Man, and not material reasons.  THAT should be a good thing...if the "dom" isn't a total prat, that is...

Wow... i could see saying that if you were going for a liberal arts degree, but for nursing? That's really stupid. Maybe they're the type to feel threatened by a female submissive who earns more than them?
Where I attend college, before anyone can be accepted to the RN program they must have complete all of the core courses.   The RN program is a two year degree but by the time they have taken all of the core courses it's really 4 years and the core courses would qualify them for a liberal arts degree.
A liberal arts degree is pretty much a stepping stone to move on to a higher degree.   I think it's pretty stupid to knock ANY degree.

I find this comment highly insulting.

Intelligence and Education are not mutually exclusive; you can be intelligent and creative and have little to no higher education.  Alandra is more intelligent than either he or I and yet she has the least amount of formal education between the three of us.  In my years of higher education, all the way through grad school, I have seen many people lacking intelligence.  She could run circles around them as far as being more intelligent.  Book knowledge is not all there is to life and what people can offer.

For most of their relationship Alandra has been basically a housewife and in that role offers no less to him than I have with all my years of schooling.  It is highly insulting to say that just because a person makes the choice not to go to college that they are now less valuable than the people who do go to college.  Different skill sets does not mean less valuable skill sets.

I value education, but I am not so unintelligent or close minded as to call those who have different values in life tarts and inferior.  But hey, that's my view.
