no he wouldn't feel it - not everything that's wrong with you can be determined by a simple stomach press.

you should ask him questions, tell him what you're revealing here on an open forum, start a good dialogue with your doctor etc - trust me, they aren't mind readers ya know. how is he suppose to properly treat you if he doesn't know what's really wrong with you?

I think so.

dollparts85 -> RE: Kinda weird question...LOL (3/20/2008 10:41:25 AM)

I have been complaining about stomach pain to my doctors for years.

I have a brother who never ever ever leaves the house. Ever. EVER.
I can't tell you how many years it's been since he left the house. And if my parents has visitors he hides in his room until they are gone.
Do NOT let agoraphobia ruin your life.
I think it must suck to be him, yanno?

yeah..I know...I didn't leave my house for a good year at one point...not even to check the mail...I wouldn't answer the door either...or even the phone...but I'm slowly doing better...it used to be hard for me to just go 10 miles away...but now I go 20 miles away once a week. And I actually made it a 250 mile trip to a hospital...on a bus! I would have never been able to do that before...I am trying..doing my best...it is hard though. I go out at least once a week now. Sometimes more.

you are getting some pretty sound advice here. you keep saying only one clinic in your town accepts medicaid.  I WILL OFFER YOU A CHALLENGE!. send an e-mail to me on the other side with your location...not your address, just your town. rest assured the information will be kept in total confidence. i can pretty much assure you i can find several doctors in your area that accept your insurance.

regular doctors are no problem...there are several...but there are not other mental health clinics. just the one. But I will pm you. Give me a minute.

I know I should go to my gp, but everytime I do...she tells me whatever my symptoms are, are from being fat...without even doing any tests. Every single time.

Doll,
THIS post..and others in which you claim your pcp/gp is blowing you off is why i made the offer to help you find a pcp/gp that accepts your insurance. Now you are stating that the regular doctors are not an issue...

*WARNING: bellowing about to occur*

Do you think it could be one of those hernia thingys? B/c I have heard of girls getting them from purging...and I have a lot of pain around my belly button and stuff...

WE....DON'T...KNOW!!!!!!!!! I've tried to be patient but really this is too much. If your doctor doesn't do things right, find another. But talk to a doctor. We cannot possibly tell you what, if anything is wrong with you. Even if one of us IS a doctor, it's impossible to diagnose online.

Again, you have been given plenty of good advice but none of it seems to be good enough. Personally i think you crave attention and for some reason posts like this one are the way you choose to try and get it.

Really enough is enough, go to a doctor, go to emergency, but don't ask us because really we aren't professionals and haven't the faintest idea how to diagnose you.

I said that only one mental haelth clinic in my area that takes medicaid. That is where I get my meds. NOT my gp. There are other gps I could see but I am not comfy changing doctors. I do not like strangers touching me. Plus it is not just my gp that I have talked to about my stomach issues. I have talked to at least a dozen other doctors over the years. NONE of them have done a thing.

kc692 -> RE: Kinda weird question...LOL (3/20/2008 5:39:17 PM)

I havent read but the first three posts, and I admit I have not done a search.  I don't mean to sound rude, but do you post on anything besides eating threads?  Just curious........

Is it normal for your stomach to make a lot of noise while and after you are eating? Is it just it digesting or something? Gas, maybe? B/c I never noticed it until recently...it feels weird too....like bubblies in my tummy.

Actually, in 1997, I started paying people to digest my food.

It was just far too cumbersome.

Kirren -> RE: Kinda weird question...LOL (3/20/2008 7:53:37 PM)

Im reading this thread over and over and what I see is that this girl is just randomly coming up with things and none of it goes together...in some way none of it makes any kind of sense....I mean a really good GP would see that she has some deep seated mental issues...and that this is either some kind of hypocondria or that she has some serious internal issues or something...I mean...c'mon you guys...its one excuse after another and another and another...and none of it makes sense...I really feel like this is just some one who wants attention and needs to feel like she is being looked after.  Not that she has any real issues....I could be wrong...but yesterday yer bulimic now your agorophobic?

Youre ignoring the most sound advice of all and that is to seek serious medical advice...from a decent practitioner...none of us can see thru the pc, few, if any of us, have medical backgrounds, and we dont have access to you or the proper medical equipment to help you. Yet you keep asking for advice, offering excuses, and different symptoms....

Im telling you that any decent GP would know with a history of long term bulimia has serious effects on the body...and she would not disregard the symptoms if they were as severe as you claim that they are. I know that I have friends and family who work in a medicaid office and I have asked them about numbered visits and they stated that the only reason the state would cut that off is if there was reason to believe that the charges stemmed from frivilous visits...or abuse of benefits. I also know that I Myself get a medical card, have in the past, while I was pregnant and had a very difficult pregnancy with both kids, and I know that I had to go to the dr some times three and four times a week for 10 months not counting the post delivery issues and visits I had...and I still wasnt numbered in visits...and I know My dr bills ran in the hundreds of thousands...

What I see here is some one that needs help...but that they flatly refuse to get it...and maybe I should be ashamed for saying that, but in reality I cant see feeding into mental illness or the lack of concern for oneself to the degree that I see it in this girls posts. If I were her family I would be deeply concerned...where are they? Why isnt she asking them? Why arent they doing anything?

Not that I dont care...dont get Me wrong. I am all for looking out for other people and offering advice and support where I can...but I dont see anything any one is saying as getting thru here...and frankly...I can only say one thing...if its real and you keep ignoring it you will die....flatly...you will die from neglecting your body just as surely as if you were over indulging in a drug or in food. And if you are making this up...you are sick. Either way...I think we have all offered the best advice that any one can and you should take it. Get help from some one that is qualified.

Now if you will all excuse Me...I feel like I have earned My reserved seat in hell for being overly honest and blunt for today...and I will see those of you that make it to the front row when you get there.

dollparts85 -> RE: Kinda weird question...LOL (3/20/2008 8:01:38 PM)

I have already posted several times that I have talked to lots of doctors about my stomach issues and they say that they are normal. Hell, in the hospital, I had such bad stomach pain and acid reflux that I was puking up into my mouth during and after every meal, and they wouldn't even give me anything for it. Let alone order tests. I can not make a doctor order tests if they do not think I need them.

KyttynTheMynx -> RE: Kinda weird question...LOL (3/20/2008 8:11:25 PM)

Doll?  Your food wouldnt stay down because it agitates your stomach.  Acid reflux is a result of you wearing away your esophagus thingit, and the valves that close after you swallow have weakened because of you forcing food back out of it.  Hows that for a sight unseen diagnoses?  Good enough for ya?

doll, did you get the answer to your original question? If so, why has the thread turned into yet another thread about your health/medical issues? just askin.
you seem to get good advise on the threads yet you continuously negate said advise.

dollparts85 -> RE: Kinda weird question...LOL (3/20/2008 8:13:22 PM)

I already knew that. But I was taking Nexium at the time and it did not work. (I eventually stopped taking it.) Pepto helps...but they wouldn't even give my Mylanta or anything when I was in the hospital.

KyttynTheMynx -> RE: Kinda weird question...LOL (3/20/2008 8:29:41 PM)

Doll the reason behind them not giving you those things is essentially, they dont help, like the would on someone who just may be having a simple reaction to some jalapenos, or something.

dollparts85 -> RE: Kinda weird question...LOL (3/20/2008 8:31:18 PM)

they do help. and a lot of the other girls took antacids.

KyttynTheMynx -> RE: Kinda weird question...LOL (3/20/2008 8:32:09 PM)

They do, but not always.  Everybody is different.  And its usually dependent on how much abuse youve done to your  parts.
